+Russell Kostal Yeah, Five used it only a couple of times before it was destroyed in The Visitation. I love how in Kinda, he attaches it to a metal box (which will generate special sleep waves for Nyssa) with really thick white string. He has two advanced metal contraptions, and he can only put them together with string. I love it.

It's cos Pertwee and Delgado were mates in real life so the chemistry is real. I think Tennant and Simm came very close but I never personally got that with Capaldi and Gomez, more of a Bond style intimidation between the two

I believe they were good friends in real life. Seems I remember reading that when Delgado passed away in an accident, that event contributed to Pertwee eventually leaving the role of the Doctor...said it wouldn't be the same.

Doctormario4600 I don't think that kicking a gun out of the master's hand counts as violence, since he wasn't trying to harm the master in any way. The master then attacked the doctor and he had to defend himself with a sword. No violence on the doctors part at all.

Scenes like this are why the Third Doctor is my Doctor. Despite the goofy incidental music in his first couple of seasons, I find it easy to get wrapped up in his adventures. While ridiculous things happen around him, he's always unflappable and in control of every situation (even when he's not). Pertwee portrayed a great and compassionate man of action, while still being a little arrogant. On top of that, he had a great supporting cast in Roger Delgado, all three of his companions and the entire UNIT staff. What's not to enjoy?

Arguably Roger's best story and definitely in my top 3 of his. His chemistry with Pertwee was unlike anyone else's in the Doctor/Master relationship and this story delves right into that. Would have been much better with just those two and no Sea Devils IMO, even though I really like them!

there's no real point to this...it could have had the gun being shot as the cliffhanger. But someone said screw it and gave them a 2 minute sword fight because it's Jon Pertwee and Roger Delgado and them not having a sword fight would be a sin! One of my favourite scenes in "The Sea Devils" and Roger Delgado's stunt double actually looks quite convincing to me. Seriously, when I first saw the Master falling back over the table at 1:25, I actually thought that was Roger even though the face was only just visible. But then I soon realized it was actually the stunt double. But it still looks great though. I'll admit, I personally think Doctor Who does a better job at hiding their stunt doubles faces than Star Trek.

I'm sorry, but Simm and Gomez definitely deserve to be called good as well. Playing a one dimensional evil genius is sorta easy, playing a madman clearly tormented by his own psyche is a lot harder. Both actors portrayed their character as more that just a bad guy. In my opinion, I do feel Dhawan's master is overracted though

Wonderful scene. Definitely my favorite part of The Sea Devils. Jon Pertwee is brilliant fun in this scene, and the dialogue between him and the Master is both clever and hilarious. I bet when the people saying Peter Capaldi will be a bad Doctor because he's too old to run around and be active see this, they'll be eating those words in a sandwich.
