Its a good solution but I don't think it will work if the gateway exists on a different server instead of the Localhost.

This was really helpful, is there a way to determine dependencies? Like if you want to change one column name see what all measures would get impacted.

Hi Isha, yes! One great feature I use in DAX studio which lists out all dependencies here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5bInaB9bM-WpMU around 15:00

knew and done till the tabular editor to get the schema details, but direct connection to AAS db and automatically update was next level :) Thanks man!

Must the additional measure have to be added to the data dictionary table or to any table?

Hi Michael, you can create the measures anywhere in your data model, but as best practice, it's really much easier to keep them all in one table

Hi Matthieu, unfortunately the dynamic element won't work without a gateway, because it's essentially pulling from a local datasets metadata

why do u say that? if you use the main pc there is the gateway hosted and the save the pbi file into a share server folder still getting the problem?

Of course I understand that I can save my file into a central shared location but outside my team who has access, others cannot see the information. My expectation is to be able to publish it into the PBI Service.

You will not be able to refresh the dataset once it is published to PBI service, which defeats the main purpose of a documentation to begin with.

What do you mean? if i publish on pbi service it will give me erros trying to connect the gateway?

I haven't tried it, but I think it won't be able to refresh the dataset because in PBI Service it won't be able to connect to "localhost:port", which he used for his Data Dictionary. So this approach is only viable if you only use PowerBI locally, but not in an Enterprise context.
