Loved this , The Effort involved with the logistics getting the gear there in the first place, transmitting the pictures and the bravery and skill of the climbers, all with the old kit in those days . Truly Inspiring.

Watching it back then it was something new. Never before had anything like that been on TV. Today its hard to imagine how amazing it seemed to a 6 year old me glued to the screen.

Wow, this is brilliant, I remember watching it on TV at the time with my father in July 1967 when I was 10 years old. Now in 2020 I'm 64 years old. I was enthralled at the time and this is amazing seeing it all again so many years later. Thank you so much for uploading this..

I remember seeing this in the US when ABC Wide World of Sports presented it in 1968. Several years later, a local climbing shop brought in photographer John Cleare, who was on the scene, to present a slide show and lecture. (Remember when that was a thing?) Loquacious and long winded, his expert still photographs and colorful storytelling were a great enhancement to my memory of the grainy B&W broadcast. In later years I also got to see Chris Bonnington and Dougal Haston present slide show/lectures as well.

Great film .. I remember watching this as a kid. I never knew Ian McNaught Davis was also a climber .. I remember him from the BBC computer programme in the early 80s just after iI had bought my first computer, the mighty BBC B with 32KB of RAM . Well done to all the climbers, camera crew and everybody else involved with the project.
