One of the best things about farming- you might not have much money, but you can usually count on eating well enough! Loved this video!!

Loved seeing the country! My Grandmama on my Daddy's side was Irish. Her husband was Scot. They lived in S.C. Daddy was in WWII as an ambulance driver. This was quite interesting.

Great bit of history there. People worked hard, ate proper food and were healthier and healthier. Great video.

them days are coming back and probably only two people in every town know how to plant a seed or even raise a radish, let alone grind their own grain.

So when did farming become a reserved occupation? My late uncle was a dairy farmer and he was not permitted to enlist even though he wanted to, deemed more valuable as a food producer than as cannon fodder. Strict checks were kept on farmers' stock, crops and land usage, though, to make sure they were not giving themselves 'perquisites'! They had to have a ration book like everyone else. Col, NZ.
