Legend......great player. I remember writing an essay in JSS about Hearts vs Kotoko and Shamo was the one who equalized for Hearts. My English teacher was so happy that I used the word “Equalized”. RIP Papa Shamo!!!

He was my idol when he played for Umeå FC. One summer, (probably 1997) there was a football tournament where my team participated (I was probably 11 years old). For some reason Shamo Quaye was there, so after a game I asked for his autograph and he was happy to sign it. I was heartbroken when I heard about his death later that year.
