Another great video Harry. I’ll have to watch that documentary on Sven now!! Didn't even know he passed away. Guess when you have four young kids your life is a bit crazy at times. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪 Andrew

That's a very kind comment. I'm sure my children would strongly disagree! ;-)

The demands of a subject being inversely proportional to their fame was equally evident when I drove a taxi.

I think this sums up one of the reasons I really like taking photos, especially in cities. I love taking photos while traveling as it gives me something to do but I think its also really valuable to document what a place looks like at a certain point in time.

I love seeing old pictures of London and seeing how much it has changed - definitely agree.

at 24 i’ve dealt with a lot of things this year that have reminded me of the fragility of life. i’m thankful to still have all of my loved ones & my own life, but i am really trying to maximize my time spent enjoying my stay on this earth & being around people i care about. your videos always serve as a good reminder of the things i’m trying to be mindful of. thank you both!

Sorry to hear that. I am glad you have found benefit from our videos. As Harry is my Dad, I like to hear his words of wisdom too haha

When I was much much younger, I used to adore Mr. Eriksson for his style of coaching… very invested into the game… stylish at all times… true football hero… it has to be sadly fascinating to crawl through the archives and see how many still live…

I love going through his binders and doing something similar. I wonder if Harry does it? And totally about Sven!

I had either the Polaroid 190 or 195 Land Camera Harry and the b&w film with its own neg was type 669 (I think). I loved mine, sold only because there wasn’t any film any more. In fact you’ve just reminded me to dig out some portraits I took with it.
@harryborden60775 ай бұрын
You are right. 🙂 I thought it was 669 but couldn't be sure. I had a couple of those Polaroid cameras. They also made a 180 too. Lovely quality. Like a hand-held 5x4 large format!

Hi Harry. I am glad you spoke about, Brian Griffin, as the pictures he too shot for Management Today were wonderful. And, like you, he was an outsider who came to London which gives photographers and other creators a certain mindset, determination, and belief in themselves. If I could have only one photography book it would be the 'The Polaroids' by Andre Kertesz that he shot on a SX70. What would yours be? Have a good weekend.

Thanks Colin, I'm very flattered for my name to be mentioned in the same breath as Brian's. I had a few drinks with him after a RPS awards evening in 2014 and thankfully got to tell him how much his work meant to me... 🙂

The man at the dinner was out of order. Photographing people is always a worthy pursuit, whether they are famous or fighting. And, as you allude to, the value of a photograph increases with time. An ordinary snapshot might become invaluable after 30 or 50 years, you never know.
@fredandharryborden5 ай бұрын
I completely agree. It's an interesting conversation though which I would love to chat to Harry about further in a future video! Thanks for the comment as always :)

Memento mori… Photography is probably one of the art forms that defies death. Watching your video right after just read the news from my hometown of Lviv in western 🇺🇦 Ukraine where Russian hypersonic missiles in the middle of the night killed at least 3 children among others. Right in historic centre town which is a part of UNESCO heritage. And yesterday 2 ballistic missiles hit Poltava college of communications killing nearly 50 and injuring over 200 students and others. CORRECTION: just learned that it was 3 girls and their mother killed in Lviv attack according to Ukrainian Catholic University (my alma mater) where one of the girls was a student. Russia executes entire Ukrainian families in the middle of Europe 😢 in 21st century

You could have put the gnarly war photographer back in his place by saying: ‘well at least the subjects I shoot are breathing’. But that would have been pretty catty. Tempting; but catty.
