, SEASON 2, EPISODE 10
We are back in the workshop this week, and there is only one thing on our mind at present - VMXdN Foxhill bike builds, and there are plenty of them this year.
This may well be the last update before these three builds are complete.
First up in the workshop, we catch up on the 2001 KX 250 Pro Circuit VMXdN race bike build for Mike Brown. Forks are a big deal, and we are using Kayaba ones in this build with cool Enzo sub-tanks, but that leads to additional modifications. Still, it's all worth it to make it look like the real deal and for Brownie to do his thing! Tony has built the engine, and I run you through what's new, what we do and what we change. She's coming along nicely.
I also give you my lowdown on the science of shock building; as Tony builds the shock for Brownie's bike, it's time to talk shims. We also discuss shortened subframes, how we create a replica of the cycra vented front plate and why we use them.
Next, we have the 2002 YZ 250 we are building for Zach Osborne, which will have the hefty number 1 plate for VMXdN Foxhill. Not very dissimilar to the Yamaha's that Villopoto and Brownie ran last year, but we run through everything we are changing this year and why! Everything we make for these builds and our sponsored teams is available on our DocWob Ebay shop. Again this one is not a million miles away from completion.
Finally, we have the other 2001 KX 250, Tommy Searle's VMXdN test bike. We need to get her graphic'd up and get Tommy out riding this old two-stroke in preparation for the August bank holiday weekend event. We have a ride video pending on this one - keep your eyes peeled!
The event itself is shaping up to be one hell of a weekend! The trade village is full, and we have had to close the door to accepting new requests for trade stands. The sponsorship support is unreal - thank you to all involved!
Details of the Foxhill Show’N'Shine display were released earlier this week. Foxhill Show'N'Shine will take place at the event on the Thursday evening, with prizes galore this year. 'Foxhill Fever' has kicked in, and we are seeing loads of you out testing in preparation.
If you haven't brought your tickets yet - please get on it as we would hate for you to be disappointed - the camping is filling up fast!
Let's recreate that feeling from a 90s GP!
Thanks for all the support, and don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to the channel so you don't miss an episode!
