Dodd's Narrows Vol 1.2 - Backwards in 8.5kts!

The current was running at 8.5kts on this tide. We watched this boat meander around the inlet to the narrows for quite awhile. He looked tentative. It's a bad idea to go through there at full rip.
We think he must have had some engine problems as he seemed to just get pulled in.
Watching this, and thinking about it, I feel that going solo, as he did, would be better than trying to explain it.
