I'm a long-time subscriber and a first-time commenter but I just have to say that the last piece was absolutely INCREDIBLE (they all were but especially that one). I arrange music for my a cappella group so I know how hard it is to be creative and innovative for a new song (especially when you feel like you have used up all your good ideas lol), but the way you weaved those melodies together was so genius. The chord progression had so much energy and tension, and how you transposed the different melodies to fit (but also changed them up) is just so inspiring to me. Also, the panning on the vocals gave me chills. I've listened to so many arrangments of yours but this has to be one of my favorites. Very indeed shook Dodie! Also, do you notate your arrangements before on sheet music? Or outline them? Or do you just go into them and kind of improv? Asking for a friend. (P.S. the friend is me)

Pleeassee make a holiday album called 'A Minory Christmas' or something along those lines! I'd buy it in a heartbeat and I'd play it for my family to hear so that they may question how I am mentally 😩🤌✨

These Christmas videos are some of my favorite things because they're a chance for Dodie to flex exactly how talented of a musician she is. These melodies are so well-known and engrained but she makes something new and magical. Love it

I think the ONE thing I can be grateful for this year is that because I don't have school I don't feel obligated (I'm a transgender man) to wear my chest binder every day for way longer than I should. Purely because of school I was binding unsafely, if I wanted to do anything outside of school I would be binding even longer. I feared heavily that I would fuck up my ribs bad enough that I wouldn't be able to get top surgery, so this year gave my ribs the break it needed. That is 1 good thing for me that came out of this.

That makes sense.

I'm glad your ribs got a break. Stay safe! Xx

for that same reason on september-october id go to school with no binder because pain lmao so yea thats an upside to it all
@Luke-tg2tl3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I mean with the right brand I don't think you can do serious harm to your body, no matter how long you bind. But binding sure hurts like a bitch so I'm glad I don't gotta do it every day now, too.
@SamA-hz8ev3 жыл бұрын
@@Luke-tg2tl Even with a gc2b or underworks binder if you bind consistently for more than 8-10 hours without breaks and without 2 days off a week yes you can still do serious damage, so be careful! Never sleep or exercise in it!

My goodness, I love you for this...all of it! The "Trailer" harmonies haunt beautifully!

The CHILLS it amazes me the amount of thought that goes into production such as the movements matching, heads turning into each other instead of matching, the talent of even writing the melodies let alone delivering them in such a hauntingly beautiful way, the power in the mashup melody I havent heard before in any previous songs by Dodie. If I were to try to make a video with even half the quality, it would take me FOREVER. Dodie, you are doing everything exactly right, keep it up. I’ve been following you for about five years now and the growth and progress I’ve seen is so inspiring. It makes my heart so happy to see your hard earned success, keep reaching for the stars ❤️

I have to say - yes it sounds like a trailer soundtrack. And I bet it would have been one perfect accumulation of all those symptoms in daily life. I don't think it would have been cynical, just your personal point of view. And although it might seem hard to allow yourself the gratitude of acknowledging the depth of pain and misery or anger - showing it your way doesn't diminish the situation or grief of others.
