You need to purge the water pump

@@christophergallegos3878 so I got my over heating problem fixed. U have to flush your system. So have extra antifreeze on hand. Keep an eye on your temperature gauge as well.

yesterday my cars coolant tank cracked, code p2181 came up, the coolant cracked enough and coolant came out everywhere. The fan comes on when it reaches high temps, you think it’s just the sensor and that’s all? lmk please!

I replaced the tank and thermostat today. The fans come on, the heat comes out the vents and everything

@@nestorautorepair no it is not! i replaced the thermostat with 180 instead of oem 203, after clearing the codes, I drove around for 20 min, later turned it back on and CEL was on and so was the red lighting bolt

matter fact as I was driving when the light came on, I was watching my coolant temp gauge and it stayed at 100 and I drove for about 20 minutes and it stayed at 100 until I got home shut it off and turned it back on, the temp gauge shot up to 184

Hi, I also have a 2011 dodge. Coolant temperature was running at 210-219 constantly and when I turned car off I could hear the coolant bubbling. One day it just overheated. Ever since then I’ve taken it to two mechanics. The first mechanic was so old I knew he didn’t have a knowledge for newer sports cars. And the other mechanic says it’s my heads, or my water pump. I know it’s not my heads we ran the test, and the water pump is new. So what is it? Please someone help I don’t want to mess up this motor.

Not to mention, my fans have a bad fuse in them, they ONLY kick on when A/C is on

i did as well everything you did with a police package charger rt, nothing worked until, I went to mexico where it is hotter with some mecanics, they fixed it and now my car doesn't go over 186f, they took original fans out, and I purchased 2 16inch electric flex a lite fans here is the link for ya, both installed and permanently on when key ignition is turned on only and wow just completely way cooler thank goodness....also change your thermostat sensor when doing this because it's what communicates with your readings in your dashboard, trust me you will be most happy.... www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-238

Could be a fuse that you are missing to turn the other fan on. I did the exact same thing you did, and my car was still running hot. Come to find out it was a fuse!

Hey man I have a 2012 dodge charger v6 I've had Ober heating issues and had to replace the thermostat because the housing cracked. I also replaced the oil filter housing and not long after I noticed it was leaking coolant. Took it back to the mechanic and the dude said it was nothing because it wasn't over heating... so I drove it for a good while like that and the coolant was quite low but when I would fill it to the line it would spit right out when I drove it. The coolant is coming out of the coolant reservoir over flow hose. What could this be? Could it be the same issue this car you fixed has?

@@bretatum3687 I had a mechanic check it out he verified that the fan wasn't powering on. My car has a big battery drain issue that makes me have to jump start it everyday or if it feels like it she'll turn on just fine for a month or a yr and then decide to have a battery drain again. But this made my mechanic want to look at that first in order to figure out why my fan isn't getting any power so I've been without a car for 2 weeks now lol but I'm just ranting now. I would say check your fan it might be that sensor this kind gentleman suggested in the video.

Could be a fuse that you are missing to turn the other fan(s) on. I don’t know the exact fuse, but after I done everything you did and it was still running hot I needed that fuse!

Hi Debra , so if the heat still work when the car is overheating then it will last , but if no heat wen overheating thats a done head gasket if all the coolant is coming back at the coolant reservoir. Check the engine oil and see if the coolant is fixing with the oil

Ohh this two codes are not relate The p2181 is for the coolant system it can be a bad thermostat or a bad water temperature sensor , the p0700 is talking about your transmission , make sure the fans are working because it can be that the waster is not at the temperature they the trans need it , so at some point they can be relate
