Dodge Dakota Front Brake Install & Painted Calipers

In this video the Dakota gets some new front brakes that were desperately needed.. We installed some new drilled & slotted rotors and painted the calipers blue to match the theme of the truck! I think it came out looking awesome, and it obliviously performs and stops a lot better too!

The key to using generic paint is you put 2 decent coats on and really heavily put a 3rd coat right before it runs

Glad you like it man! When I used the generic paint last, it was several years ago so the calipers definitely took a beating during the PA winters. It was time for a respray for sure

That’s still a nice blue. I put drilled rotors w tow truck pads on mine and it made a world of difference. I’m in a desert so it’s already 100° here and the original setup just didn’t cut it. There was lots of fade before. Can’t make them fade now and I drive fast. How do you like those tires? I think you mentioned where you got the wheels but I need a memory refresh

Thanks man, I’m satisfied with the tires, the wheels were actually on the truck when I bought it. That specific style is discontinued, forget the exact style name but they’re American racing aluminum wheels chrome plated.

Stacking the blocks that way is a very bad idea
