Bought one for $300 bucks from someone who was going to junk it. Bought a battery, 4 new tires and made it pass MD inspection. Had 207k miles when I bought it and currently as 214,600 miles on it. Interior is mint and has zero rust. The truck had been sitting for 7 years without someone driving it, doing oil changes ect. But every time the owner moved it from one spot to another it fired right up every time. Best first truck I’ve owned and plan on keeping till it blows up.

Thanks great man about you working at the Newark plant. I recall attending a summer time car show/employee appreciation day at the plant on year. At that time I had a 1958 Dodge which was built at that plant. My Dodge and the other cars built there were all parked in the grassy area in front of the building. Employees gave a tour of the assembly area and parts depot and it was a really great day that I still remember maybe 20 years later.

Dodge Durangos will last over 200,000 miles when taken care of. Currently have a 1998 Durango with the same body style and just put in a brand new 5.9L long block 360 V8. People do not believe that it is a 1998 because such a good condition and runs very smooth. With the new engine already installed should last another 20-25 years. No more car payments EVER!!!!! You made a great choice for the money!

Great looking Durango for 20yrs old. I bought a 2000 Durango last year for $2700, got that nice Forest Green color in 4x4 with the 4.7L V8 and it runs like a champ. It has some dings here and there, need to put new aftermarket headlights as the ones on there now are so old theres literally no reason to try and restore them. I was gonna try and get halo headlights for it. Other than that, mine is in really good shape for the 20 years its been around, I have only 161k miles on it now. Great video, good walk-around of the Durango and good purchase... I always loved that bodystyle as well, still think its the best one as long as the Durangos have been produced...have fun with it.

I had two Jeep Grand Cherokee 2001 and 2002 those taillights were the same way and gave me hell. Classic Chrysler using contractors instead of just running the wire to the bulb like normal people lol

So there was a reason why dodge was late to the SUV craze. They did have the Dodge Raider in the 80s... Now they had purchased Jeep so they had Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee so they didn't need SUVs... in fact that is what killed the Jeep Comanche, because Chrysler had just put all this work into the Dakota Pickup... Now this is one of my favorite Dodges, they we're great looking in the 90s however I wouldn't touch one with, the 4.7L... the 3.7L/4.7L motors are known for suddenly blowing up and its why i stepped away from jeeps into a Chevy Tahoe... Also Durangos have problems with the computer linking to the security system, and fixing that can be a nightmare... So just a fair warning, I'm glad you are just passing it along.
