Lifetime MPG Is the last 30 gallons of fuel not the entire 5000 miles. It's the same way on my Explorer. Still great MPG V-8 SUV!

Welllll, I could nit-pick a few things... but that would take away from an utterly F U N video. I kinda wish you had continued (from Part 1) describing specific features of the Durango, such as the steering, road-hugging, A/C (you were getting good mileage for the speed considering you had A/C on the whole time) but were you using recirculation or were you allowing fresh air?... That said, your attention to the scenery was thoroughly enjoyable. So this was a net-positive video to watch from end-to-end. I've only once driven coast to coast. But I drove I-40 through the panhandle (not as far south as your route) and (wow) those south-to-north crosswinds just before sundown were savage. If there was some way you could take questions live (during a trip like this) that would make the next road trip video smashing! As I was watching, I really wanted to tap you on the shoulder every now and then. Happened five or six times during the trip. From your perspective, it probably would make your trip go quicker, too. When answering questions, time flies. For example: I wanted you to show us the instantaneous MPG dial at one point. And then I wanted to ask if you could still pick up Sirius XM in that section or road where you lost cell reception. I've been wondering whether my Durango gets its XM signal via the cell tower or (for real) from the satellite. Then I wanted to ask you about the Pandora channel... how you got that. Was that native uConnect? Or was that CarPlay or Android Auto? I also wanted to ask you to show us your tire pressures because that would affect your MPG. Were you running stock all-season tires or the high performance tire option? In my 2019 R/T, I cannot find any way to add new apps to uConnect. In your 2016 Durango... did you have the ability to add apps back then? If so, how was that done? Also wanted to ask about the suspension firmness. I only have 1850 miles. My suspension is quite firm. Was wondering if/whether you had noticed your suspension "soften up" after the initial from-the-showroom stiffness. Not expecting you to respond now to all these questions. Was reciting what I'd have asked about were you taking questions en route.

Thanks for watching! Part 2 is in the works. I love the feedback. Ride firmness has been awesome and it's not rock hard but it is sporty. There's more great footage coming.

I may be imagining it... but I've never had an SUV or crossover before. When I was flush with cash before retiring from IBM, I drove a 1988 BMW 735iL and then a 1996 Jaguar XJ6. Felt potholes a LOT more than I do in the Durango. I dunno if that's the suspension of the Durango or just the larger diameter rubber not "falling into" the potholes as deeply. Can't wait for the next part. I wish I could have you experience just how magic the R/T is in snow, even six inches deep ungroomed by the plows. I fretted that the Durango lacked the drive mode knob of the Grand Cherokee so I could select "SNOW'. Didn't need to. The R/T laughs at the snow. It just goes where you tell it as it if was dry asphalt. And that was with the stock all-season tires. That said, the snow was above 20 degrees. I suspect I'd lose grip in zero degree weather unless I switch to true winter tires with a tread formulation that remains soft in frigid conditions. But still... I swear by the two-speed transfer case and the ABS computer that simulates a locked-up differential without the driver needing to press a button or shift a lever. It just works magically and fully automatically, even up a sixteen degree slope unplowed. Also think about telling us what differences you've noticed between the 2017 Durango and this one. Final question: In one video, you seemed to allude to one particular future passenger as appreciating that you had the rear seat entertainment system. "You know who you are." So did this person ever do a road trip and use the entertainment system as you expected? If so, was the reaction what you anticipated? I'm stuck locally taking care of my aging parents. I can't go anywhere more than 40 minutes away. So I'm road-tripping my R/T vicariously through you. Really enjoyed this one where you make it a point that folks miss so much by flying. I heartily agree. Of all the things to remember from my x-country trip back in 2008 (mostly I-40) were the fireworks places in Missouri. Can't believe my mind considered that important enough to file away. Or that the pavement passing through Tulsa reminded me of the Grand Central Parkway in New York. BTW - I lived 24 years in Redondo. So I knew all the SoCal places you were speaking of in this video. Keep up the great work. Remember, I'm counting on you to drive the R/T for me cuz I can't (at present) go on road trips on account of obligations to a couple of 9X-year-olds.

Weird but I find your road trip enjoyable probably because I enjoy driving a lot looking to purchase a 22 Durango RT Plus seems like you and think about the surroundings while in the same way. Do you still have the Durango?

Glad you enjoyed the video. I sold the Durango years ago. I still miss it. But I also don't do road trips anymore.
