Is this the same procedure for a 4x4 3500
@isolateddieselperformance32613 жыл бұрын
Yes it is except after you take the wheel off you will have to remove the hub extension before you proceed to the next step. Taking the hub extension off is like taking the lug nuts off again and pulling a way smaller wheel off. I can't remember if the torque specs are the same but they should be except the wheel. 3500 wheels torque is 145 ft/lbs instead of 135 ft/lbs like the 2500
@ezyjack8263 жыл бұрын
great video and appreciate the detail. I have a couple questions. I blow out my wheel bearing and had to fix it on the road. when I put the brake caliper back on one of the bolts didn't seat all the way down. can I add a washer to it to make up the difference? been riding it as is for a month but now that warmer weather is here I figure I'll address it. second thing is when I did the repair (in the snow, in a parking lot of course) I noticed the u-joint needed replacing. ideally I would of done it at the same time but given the condition I figured it was better to wait. when I check the parts site it shows "Front shaft" and "Wheel joints" u-joint options. I need the same one you did but I'm thinking the "Front shaft" option is for the front of the drive shaft. thanks for any guidance you can provide. :-)
@isolateddieselperformance32613 жыл бұрын
Pull the bolt out of the caliper and make sure no trash or anything is in the hole to keep it from running all the way in. Putting a washer on there isn't a good idea. The ujoint you are looking for is called a axle shaft ujoint. If it says front then that should be for the driveshaft that gose from the pinion to the transfer case.

Great video. I appreciate the detail and thoroughness you provide. I’m exactly ocd like you. One question, I’m about to go crazy trying to diagnose why my driver side wheel drags. Do both your front wheels hand spin the same when you have it jacked up off the ground?
@isolateddieselperformance32615 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Take your break caliper off and see if it spins a lot better. If it does then you probably have a warped rotor. If it still drags you probably need a new wheel bearing.
@harleyhoracio15 жыл бұрын
Isolated Diesel I also subscribed. I did new brake pads, reman calipers (twice on the drivers side), new rotors, new hubs/bearings, new rubber brake lines, new master cylinder (only bc the reservoir was super dirty inside). The rotors spin free and the same when calipers are removed. I was able to blow through the hard lines, so no obstructions there. I’m starting to think it’s in the ABS pump for some reason, but I’m not willing to drop over $360 for a new unit. I can actuate the pump with a diagnostic tool and it seems fine. That’s also how I bleed the system. I don’t know, been fooling with it so long and bled the brakes so many times, I’m just about over it and gonna let it ride. It’s not a terrible drag, but it doesn’t spin as easily as the passenger side. That OCD stuff is sometimes a bear to deal with!
