@@EnthusiastsGarage i’ve been watching your videos for years I have a 96 RT/10 with 10,000 miles, my question is I’ve been reading some people recommend changing the head gasket something about the material they use do you know anything about this issue, and what you recommend also did you ever get your Gen 5 I know the prices are incredibly high I was looking at a carbon fiber addition in the 150,000 Crazy. Thanks

@@michaelkniazuk6418 if the head gasket isn’t leaking I would leave it. Didn’t get a Gen 5, prices are to high. Got a new gt500 which is faster

Thanks for the tips. Alot of these checks should be done before buying the car. If car needs attention, this should be used to leverage the purchase price of the car.

Went through this in my 2004 Viper. Replaced the clutch, buttoned it all back together, then the puddle on the floor and the inoperable clutch pedal. Had to remove the transmission all over again and replace the slave cylinder. Luckily I had one with me. This would have been a good time to do the clutch too on this car. I found the ordeal punishing and I had a MWR shop with a lift and trans jack.

I'm going to use that heat trick as a way to leverage the price down. Buying from a dealership so I'm sure they dont know shit. I will be sure to use these tips to my advantage

Great content. I would also add to be EXTREMELY cautious with the nut that holds the positive battery cable on the main fuse box. Located behind the front drivers side tire under the hood. This nut if not treated with care can break loose where it connects inside the firebox causing electrical gremlins. This will be an issue in the future. I have personally dealt with this and it is a mess.

Few people ever change fluids as they should. The cars that sit a lot can get moisture in fluids too and cause all kinds of secondary problems.

Listen, I've owed 3 gen 2 GTS vipers. One of my best friends is the top viper tech in the mid-west (probably in the nation) he has owned 10 vipers total since 1995, and he personally knows the people whom designed theses cars. He showed me why my fist viper had cracks in the paint towards the very front of the hood. You need to push on the hood directly over where the hinges mount to the hood when finally closing the hood. If you push closer to the front of the hood, what happens is the fiberglass hood will flex more than the paint will and stress cracks will start to form in the paint around the NACA duct that feeds the intake......other than that, the guy is right on with what he has shown & said about these cars. I'm subscribed. an the

Hey your vids are awesome! Very informative and you know your stuff. So here's a question for you. If you had to trade in your viper for a different generation which one would it be and why? Would like to see your thought on that.
@EnthusiastsGarage7 жыл бұрын
Kevin Venuto the gen 2 is the classic viper look. It will probably be timeless and never look outdated. If I were too get a different viper I would get a gen5 gts in all black. It still has that timeless look with lots of updates and a ton of power

I love your videos but you're wrong about how to close the hood. It took me a few years to learn but the hood should be closed with both hands by pushing about a foot or so forward of where you pushed. Otherwise, you risk that only one of two catches engage. Then you have to deal with a cock eyed hood where only one of the clasps is engaged. Best to push down higher on the hood with both hands.
