Around minute 7:10, that was a very nice thing the radio announcer (assuming in NY) said...that Darin Ruf did not have to hit, and that was the beauty of the stolen base. I was not surprised to see that he was determined to help out, and that sac fly was the best thing for this team and himself (this was more meaningful than the HR he had during game 5 of the 2021 NLDS because it definitely took a village for the Mets to win this game)! I would say that both Francisco and Darin were clutch with this particular game! What a game it was! Hopefully the baseball gods will be better to/for Darin and the Mets from this point!

That 2016 Cubs team was just so much fun to watch. They were classy guys, playing like kids out there. I hate the Yankees but love Rizzo. Hate Detroit but love Baez. I understand this game was meaningless to the Dodgers and that they were just focused on returning home, but that’s no excuse for this sort of performance . This was the worst game I have seen the Dodgers play in 20 years. No effort, no energy , no thinking etc. Trayce becomes the first player in MLB history to try and score on a single from first base with less than 2 outs and the SS already having the ball before he even reached 3B. Martin and Ferguson must be furious with Lux. His laziness cost them a lot of earned runs.

I disagree. Dodgers were at the end of a 7 game road trip and was a little fatigued. The Mets needed it more, playing at home and had an extra day of rest and preparation before the series started. The Dodgers made a lot of mistakes and the Mets capitalized. The Mets played a better series. Mets played better all around especially on defense. The Dodgers will give the Mets a different look if/when they meet in the playoffs. Urias, Gonsolin, Kershaw and May with Heaney and Anderson in the bullpen. I’m not worried. This team, when they are mistake free will be very hard to beat. It took a run saving catch last night with the Mets best pitcher to win the game. The Dodgers won the Tuesday game with their JV squad and an experiment.
