The Mets had a great late run this season but what the Dodgers are doing with their injured pitching staff is the story. This seems kind of nuts even with the offense.

It's very similar to what the Detroit Tigers did with their pitching staff. Detroit ace Jack Flaherty was traded to the Dodgers, and they were left with former Dodger reliever Kenta Maeda and a bunch of other guys. So they decided, let's do the pitching rotation differently. Let's have 3 or 4 guys come up every game, pitch around 3 innings as hard as they can, then give the ball to the next guy. The Detroit Tigers went from being one of the worst teams in MLB aside from the Chicago White Sox to a team who took the Cleveland Guardians to 5 games in their divisional series. That's a remarkable turnaround.

@@derekbaker4763 I think the only pitcher who might return for the World Series is Alex Vesia. He's their best bullpen guy, but he's still only one-inning per game pitcher. I did not think the Dodgers would get this far with Walker Bueller as their best and only option as a third starter, but the bullpen has been amazing, and the offense is on fire. Beating the Yankees will be a tough hill to climb, though.

Just an amazing year for The Dodgers! All the injuries to key players, plus the decimation of starting pitching. They made it down the stretch and through the playoffs with THREE starting pitchers and a great bullpen! The bullpen games have been so productive and although its very different and unorthodox in the scheme of things, it has been more effective than not. This Dodgers/Yankees World Series will be so great for MLB. It's been 43 years since these two storied franchises have faced each other in The Fall Classic. Can't wait for this Friday! GO AZUL!!!!
