Is it the same concept for a chipped tip?About 1. mm of the tip broke off my knife.

Yeah roughly the same concept for a knife tip, just follow the angle you want to reproduce or grind it slightly steeper

Do you bend your stingers tips often ?

No not often, they are quite robust. I think the tip bent from hitting that other knife and bouncing back at me.
