I love watching good musicians collaborate on writing and instrumentation.. You get into the studio with an idea, and sometimes it's just not quite right or could use a little of this or that. Dodie's so gifted, but it is also great that she surrounds herself with musicians with such a deep vocabulary that she can hum a 5-1 resolve, say "throw the chord on top" and booom... results. Oh, no that grand has a bitey timbre, let's try something else. Only great musicians can have this easy and fruitful dialogue, and it's so cool.
