Sobriety. Please don’t buy into the myth that mind altering substances support creativity. A growing wave of artists (Eminem, Dot, Doechii, Ari Lennox, Tyler the creator and even Future surprisingly) are sober and it is so inspiring.

I’ve taken to buying albums on vinyl recently because none of this stuff on streaming is gonna live forever. One day it will disappear whether you “own” it or not. Servers don’t expand forever. I buy albums I love so that I can have it. Streaming is cool for now but most of the music feels disposable and forgettable. Because they have to give you enough content to justify your subscription.

BRUH, I just saw a clip of Doechii on twitter, which finally sent her to the top of the list to me. I've always liked her but now i'm blown away, and I opened my page and BOOM - A doechii interview. The first 15 seconds alone has me sat and ready to stan. This girl is it!

I keep saying we’re about to see some cultural shift in rap after some event that allows new grounds to be established (kinda like Kanye Vs 50 in 2007 phasing out gangster rap after graduation won). It really sounds like someone like a Kendrick wants to be the one to pioneer it on this song. Systems within rap culture need to be torn down and built anew. Artists need more integrity as people. And “journalists” who secretly are being puppeteered by some artists need to cease. He sounds tired. So am I. Lol

Interesting, Repeatable vs Relplayble. When I hear the term "Replayable", I think albums that are Timeless, like 36 Chambers. Something you'll go back to years later. Repeatable, makes me think of Singles, addicting audio snippets.

@@CurtissKingTV Good point. I think of one being Comfort Food (Mac n Cheese) vs Candy (Now & Laters). Both make you feel good, one is a quicker fix/high. The other takes time to make, plus its your go to in slow times

16:40 I agree streaming has ruined appreciation for music. When I had to read Jet or Ebony for release dates, then ask the boss to get off work early to buy an album before it sold out, I appreciated music more. Investing real life actions and cost, you best believe I was gonna listen to the whole album multiple times. $10.99 for one album meant something. Now for 9.99 a month, I have thousands of songs

On the replay value topic I believe LaRussell is a great example because his EPs are no more than 20 minutes you can play the everyday. They are short, fun, yet very good bodies of work, that you don’t necessarily need genius for. Just thought he was a good artist to use.
