100%. Doechii won Variety's Disruptor of the Year award a few days ago, and after her speech, Moosa also gave a speech and said her artistry moved him, that he always believed in her talent, even to the point of having his dad give her an apartment that was supposed to be theirs just so she didn't have to go back to Tampa. They really cherish her, and will protect her and her vision.

She just makes me smile everytime I hear her record . It’s refreshing . As an artist who draws and paints it feels so good for art to finally be back in music . Very few are actually making art and putting love and soul into it . Commercialized art is art but it lacks the core values that art has .

@SirDave17 күн бұрын
She's definitely one of the best out. She reminds me of Kendrick, that's the best way I can think of it. She has a hole theatrical cinematic thing going on, and she wraps really hard and aggressive. Like she reminds me of Kendrick on his debut album section 80, which now they call the mixtape but I was actually his debut album.
@realjnolan16 күн бұрын
I mostly agree with you here! But I’ve always been on the side of Section.80 being an indie release. At the time when he dropped it, he did plenty of interviews where hosts asked him what’s next and his reply was “debut album.” But it’s a potato (potahto) conversation at this point lol
@SirDave16 күн бұрын
@realjnolan hmmm, I see. Maybe was publications were assuming it was his album and jumping the gun too soon then. I remember it being stated it was his album, then when "To Pimp a Butterfly" came out it went from being called album to a mixtape. I remember buying Section 80 on Amazon.

People calling her music “Harriet Tubman Music” Haven’t listened to her work. They are making an assumption that she is like Kendrick because they marketed her like that. And Kendrick haters call his music “Free the slaves music.” But she is actually more like Tyler than Kendrick. I was expecting a conscious mixtape too because of the marketing strategy and was disappointed when I realized it was a trick to get Kendrick fans to listen to her. It’s taken me a long time to warm up to her because of that. Kendrick is my GOAT, and I felt used. This girl is not like him AT ALL, and they knew it. Even on the breakfast club recently they were explaining away that section 80 comment by Top saying “Top meant your mixtape reminded him of section 80 as in this is our next star!” WHATEVER! But people are so upset because everyone is easily embracing her in ways they do not typically do women in hip hop, and it is solely because of that Kendrick comparison and co-sign, during his biggest year ever! Her album was no where near the best for a female rapper this year. So it’s upsetting. Especially if you are a hottie and have watch Megan be treated like a dog, do absolutely amazing, and get snubbed. But she is extremely talented and a stellar live performer. I didn’t care to much for her mixtape. But love watching her Camp Flog Gnaw performance! I hope she wins the best new artist Grammy, and I’m glad she got nominated for that. If she wins best rap album, she will be only the third woman to ever do so. So I will be proud of her, but won’t agree she had the best album. She has the best DJ on the planet. And I think she is the most stunning female rapper out!
@realjnolan17 күн бұрын
I don’t really see them marketing her as a female Kendrick, she wasn’t really getting that much burn from ppl until Kendrick co-signed her himself. Even with the quote from Top, I understood what he meant but I’ve been following her for the past 2 years to know he wasn’t comparing their style of music. But now that it’s known Kendrick rocks with her, his haters are taking aim at her to try and suppress her from getting bigger. They’re unfortunately gonna discredit whatever she does.
@Rainbowsun117 күн бұрын
She is outstaning, but as a dark skin black woman she will never get the support from black people and white executives the way they allowed Cardi B to blow up for reciting what someone else wrote.
@LeonaHeart17 күн бұрын
I disagree in this particular case. Colorism is real for sure. But we can’t ignore that girlfriend is weird AF like Tyler, The Creator. Lol! You can’t be “weird” and vulgar AF, and then blame your complexion. Lol! Homegirls mixtape was crazy to me. Lol. I only listen to Tyler’s projects post “Flower Boy.” Lol! There is reason to think she is strange and out there for other reasons besides her complexion. Lol.
