Josh, thanks for the interview with Anthony. I happened upon his website a number of years ago and purchased and studied much of his content and learned a ton from him. Great interview.

I like the Bible Memory App for review. It helps me to be consistent and stay in a good time frame for spaced repetition. For actually learning passages I use different techniques.😊

I’ve never heard of him so I checked his website and it seems a little new age to me. I could be wrong, but that was my first impression.

I’d agree with that. He’s more of a “memory” guy than a “Bible” guy.

Oh man, this is a hot-button issue for me. "Smart" phones may not HINDER Bible memory, however, they do hinder progress on a massive scale in many other areas. So, in the long run, "smart" phone use is detrimental and the end does not justify the means. What does "smart" technology do anyway? It causes many individuals to outsource their cognitive functions and mental resources to a computer chip. Everyday mental tasks that our God-given human brains (which are controlled by our minds) normally have no issues completing are being outsourced to software on your phone. Additionally, it has come to the point that we forget how to do many simple mental skills. For example, many people today do not know how to use maps without the aid of GPS; how to look in a library book (or a physical Bible) for answers; how to read an article (many people scan a headline or watch a quick video and think they have all the news they need to be well informed on "issues"); t; how to do simple math; how to be in the present moment with people, communicate and share experiences; how to avoid walking down manholes on a busy street(etc.). Personally, I found a lot more freedom by switching to a flip phone. It took a few weeks to get back into the swing of things, and it's interesting that it was only a couple decades ago when we were all living without this new technology. I also use programs such as Anki, and the Mind Palace system developed by Ron White. Currently, I have memorized Genesis Chapters 1-20, Exodus Chapter 12, Deuteronomy 6, Ecclesiastes Chapters 1-3, John Chapters 1-4, and the whole book of Hebrews. I can also summarize what happens in every chapter of the book of Genesis. All this happened as a result of submitting myself to the authority of the Holy Spirit. And, my computer is for use when I am home. Indeed, when I am out and about, I am unhindered by the digital, man-made world that strives to steal my time and energy. Shalom, thanks for the Bible Memory Goal motivations. At the end of the day, as long as we are truly reading the Bible, studying it, memorizing it, and doing what it says we will be ok. Here are a few relevant verses: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 “I have the right to do anything,” you say-but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”-but not everything is constructive. 1 Corinthians 10:23 "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
