Apparently in this video the word ‘Sufi’ is used in the sense of ‘mystic’ and mystics are in every tradition. Regardless of tradition anyone who comes in touch with the mystery of being-ness (outside of thought - concepts, definitions, words, ideas, opinions and so on) can be called a mystic. The Sufi approach is to know what actually is (not imagination) as opposed to the organized religion which is based on ‘belief’ (an idea that is taken as ‘truth’ by the brain unconsciously to avoid suffering). Belief systems and associated rituals are different in different religious traditions, even within a given tradition (sects) but the taste of mystery is the same regardless of tradition, gender, race and so on.

I don't agree to what all Safdar Sahar is saying here. He should not be using classification of sufi in Islam versus sufi outside Islam. Islam is born just 1500 years ago, there is no religion as Hinduism also. We were all one before. We were all Sanatani. He should go back and find his roots in sanatana. Sanatana is eternal and there was no such religions in the past if we go back 2500 years ago, even Islam & Christianity were not there. Dharma, Artha, Kaama & Moksha are the four pillars as per Vedas. These are called Purusharth- Chatushtaya. That means for majority of us, Moksha is a process. Agreed, one must not run away from the world & its responsibilities. But there are many souls who are self-restrained, more refined than majority of us. They have better control over their senses, may be owing to past karmas. They may dedicate their life meditating totally on divinity and may renounce the world, may live in seclusion away from madding crowd. We should respect such souls as well. Safdar sahar seems to be pregnant with his idea of islamic sufism. And this is normal for any average person. He should read Vedas and for this he should go to Arya Samaj in his locality. Even Ashtavakra had not advised King Janana to run away from the world. How come he then think that hindus run away from the world. I am flabbergasted to hear such things from him.

brother very wrong interpretation of hindu yogi.....every tradition has its own unique way of enlightenment.....sufism has no links with islam, it is just our own tradition.....i think you are emotionally attached to islamic sufi......its unfair to compare all traditions and feel proud of your own tradition.....i think we should learn from every tradition......no sufi has told us that we are living in kali yuga dark age but still thats ok i love bulleh shah
