"Does Acupuncture Actually Work??"

"Does acupuncture actually work?" is a question I hear a lot, or more specifically, action acupuncture help me with XYZ condition - asthma, IBS, allergies, etc.
In this video, we're going to cover a few of the biomedical explanations for how acupuncture actually works.

Every time he says 'acupuncture' you can replace it with 'faith healing' and the rest of the argument still makes 'sense'. The brain/body/nervous system is incredibly complex and the simple fact is you can fill an ocean with all the things we still don't know or understand about how it actually works. If something reduces pain and improves quality of life, even just as a function of placebo effect, (as it did for my mother) then more power to anybody that achieves positive results. I'll continue practicing my martial art and wondering why it seems like I never get sick.

It’s not placebo……but I do agree the acupuncturist quality varies. The one just only know to stick needle in without proper assessment, then definitely old or super experienced or just very bad

acupuncture has always been so interesting to me. I was wondering if there any religious concept to it? like yoga is based in Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. Is acupuncture filtered through a faith?

Hi there - it's actually not *necessarily* linked with a religion, although Daoism often comes up. Its roots are often linked with Daoism.

Yes, it works, i had a stiffed neck over 10 days and i went to my friend who study this field over 8 years in China, she unblocked me in just 2 sessions, she give me extra treatment for milk in my breasts, i remember i was leaving her office witch was on 5 flor of the building, on a first flor my blouse was all wet from the milk! My God! From that time, every time when i have a problem i fly to Serbia from US, i tried few places here in us, i wasn’t so pleased

faith is the key to any success with fake medicine like this. At least with homeopathy it's hard to make things worse, but acupuncture can cause all manner of issues from internal bleeding to infections..

A Low thyroid will cause a ton of symptoms in you health. I had almost every symptom you can get from a subliqual low thyroid. It is crazy! Always have your thyroid checked!! I may get accupunture for that.

go to the beach 1 month a year where your thyroid can absorb iodine (thyroid food) and you will never have thyroid issues.

Hi Anahi, this is a difficult question to answer because there are so many factors involved, without doing a thorough diagnostic session it's almost impossible to say. Certain acupuncture protocols can work on the neurological system that gives you cravings but ultimately the effort to lose weight comes from you managing & finding balance within different lifestyle factors, such as diet & exercise. Any good practitioner can help support you through the process but they won't be able to perform miracle weight loss so don't believe anyone that tells you otherwise...👍

Acupuncture doesn't work. It is based on ancient myths and body models, from a time when there was no modern science. It's like giving validation to the Flat Earthers, even though we now know that the Earth is a globe.

作为一个中国人我认为针灸对于身体的扭伤，摔跤造成的损伤，还有肌肉的损伤会更有用。至于减肥，我还没有听说身边哪位朋友尝试，但是中国人的饮食习惯和西方不同，很多时候我们吃的东西注定了我们不会太肥。我觉得饮食和运动是更重要的。但是如果你所在的地方确实有中医可以帮助你针灸减肥，也可以去试一试😊

I am a person who dont believe in these kinds of medicines,even the the herbs kind of medicines.Then I have had an experience of severe migraine,due to my work load with computer screen overuse.I asked eople weather it can be cured.But after that due to my mother I consulted an acupuncture doctor, Ever since after the first consultation I haven't experienced migraines,Not once.So it works ,But now I am confused,How it works? As a mechanical engineer i cant see a physical logical explanation,dont know.Whatever, it works.
