I am an acupuncturist. I have a masters degree in Chinese medicine. Patients need to see a qualified professional only. If you don’t get dramatic results in 2-3 visits, you need to find another acupuncturist. Very often people see chiropractors for acupuncture, and they usually have very insufficient training. I had 3000 hours of training before I graduated. Chiropractors and physical therapists get 50 hours.

I am one of those people that have been damaged so many times it almost unbelievable. Huge hole in the hwy just under some overhanging trees. Hit it doing 86 mph on the Harley. A couple weeks later could barely walk. After two years of chiropractor went to an acupuncturist. What finally worked was acupuncture, cupping, and tens.

As a licensed Acupuncturist for 20 years, I truly enjoyed your video 🥰 the only thing that I would add is, unfortunately acupuncture studies don’t reflect clinic reality. The reason is Chinese medicine treats the root cause and each patient individually. So studies with same points protocols for 100 people would not work as each person requires different approaches & treatment plan 🌷😎

I used to be an insurance adjuster who dealt with automobile accidents resulting in injury, and while I understand this is anecdotal, the claimants who combined acupuncture with physical therapy (strengthening exercises) resolved their soft tissue injuries faster than with any other course of treatment. This was primarily acute neck and back injuries, which it sounds like there is clinical evidence to support my anecdotal.

I would say it may work for some people but not all. I didn't feel any difference when my friend applied it on me for my lower back problem (herniated disc), but I also met a patient who said she tried so many different type of therapy(can't remember what her problem was) and modalities, nothing worked but acupuncture. When you talked about the relaxing environment, i very other therapies were also in relaxing environment, but they just didn't work. Also, I think how experienced the therapists are, how they applied it can also make some difference. In my own case, i only tried it once, i don't know if several sessions will make some difference. So it think it is case to case

@@boossersgarage3239 You will feel better in hours, and a lot better the next day. Sometimes the second treatment is the most obvious benefit, because the person is so blocked up from pain for a long time. I am an acupuncturist for 25 years. Hi Khalid, thank you for this video! A question in regards to your tip nr 4, effect of relaxing in the room for 20 minutes. For that purpose - why use acupuncture? Why not just use a really relaxing room, maybe some warm blanket or other relaxing music. Or recommend going for a spa or massage or a walk in a nice park. Why use relaxation as motivation for acupuncture specifically?

Fantastic video, thank you. We must certainly contrast this with Western medicine, which loves to hand people a pill that solves symptoms but not a problem. Yet that is encouraged as it passed some tests for pain relief. I also find that acupuncture is semi reliable and absolutely significant when it works well. Even placebos have enough of a positive effect that all drugs must be tested against them.

@chilui2780
@chilui2780 8 ай бұрын
In Hong Kong, the government there agree to include acupuncture as a way to reduce patient relying on morphine for controlling cancer pain. I personally come across many cases that acupuncture provide reasonable relief for many conditions. If use acupuncture to help you, try three times and if you see any result, keep going. Otherwise look for another acupuncturist. Acupuncture, if correctly done, provides very quick result or relief. Going to an acupuncturist for 40 treatments for a particular condition, it is a sham.

Wow. Let me put it this way. There are good doctors and there are bad doctors (or physiotherapists). And the same ideal applies to acupuncturist. A good acupuncturist will get to the root of the problem; where as a doctor they will treat symptoms. The best doctors will tell you the best medicine is conservative medicine and Chinese Medicine is the best conservative medicine. They use herbs vs pharmaceuticals.

So I find these videos helpful when you’re diving into research behind each intervention I.e manual therapy. Generally new school chiros and physios use similar techniques in manual therapy - whether if it’s soft tissue, mobilization’s or manipulations or electric modalities I.e ifc tens shockwave therapy. Keep up the good content, you make these topics informative and entertaining to watch! Especially the manual therapy series. -fellow EB chiro student :)

For the past month i've been having very sharp pain on my neck. A few hours after i wake up, it always develops into an incredibly strong migraine ... i did 3 sessions of traditional Chinese acupuncture - walked out worse than i went in, every time.. after the third session i couldn't stand the pain any more and started taking pills. Booked a session with a chiropractor and voila!!! No more neck pain, neck grinding, i gained full range of motion and the best of it all, NO MIGRAINES!! acupuncture - 0; Chiropractor - 1 Most of these "reviews" shown say "May or might improve.."... chiropractic say "it Will improve", and it did. PS: During my 1st acupuncture session, i felt nausea and eventually puked on the clinics floor... not a good feeling.

That's a perspective about the efficacy of acupuncture but it's a limited one. The issue about understanding traditional Chinese medicine is that western therapists/medical practitioners are trying to squeeze a radically different model of medicine into their model and force correlate measurements of understanding biology, physiology, pathology, neurology, etc one to the other. In my experience TCM is just too different to make that 1:1 comparison. In this video he also says at the beginning that he taught himself acupuncture. If that means he didn't have proper schooling with TCM then I'm not sure his opinions hold that much water. TCM and acupuncture is in totality a comprehensive health care system. It's not just for musculoskeletal issues.

@@honuman39 Tbf, if only the research recognise the Chinese evidence in acupunture (which there's plenty of them as it existed 2000+ years already) then u found it can treat a lot more problems then just pain, sadly due to the evidence for those was not recognised by the west which of course it won't as when it was invented these guidelines haven't even existed yet. Secondly I would also want to point out that western acupuncture had some difference compared to chinese acupuncture ( more like is an incomplete version of chinese acupunture) due to trying to fit a complete different theory into theirs, which as mentioned in the video at first acupunture was based on chi(energy) flowing through your body which I need to highlight u can only found chi in living creatures and it doesn't have a physical channel (is slightly more on energy flowing though tissues in your body) and not physical channels like nerves and blood vessels flowing in your body that western medicine uses which can be found in dead people as well. Is very hard if not impossible to fit it perfectly into western system ( u can say is the same for fitting western medicine into chinese medicine), but I can understand why currently it was only being recognise in treating pain as the concept was pretty much the same as western ,which takes much less time for western people to understand and apply it into their treatment, I'm not saying either one is good or bad, I tried both and I think both is good in their own way and actually can fill in the blind spots which both aren't able to treat.

Oh my, acupuncture is a technique within TCM. Moving from that I don't even know where to begin. From the clearly overview it appears though information may have been gathered from various sources one would request a more indepth knowledge based evidence review from a clinician who has practiced for years in only acupuncture. Though a large quantity of patients require acupuncture for pain it has a mountain of other uses dating back for over 2 thousand years. Although your video was pleasant in it's approach it proves to be quite disrespectful to a very ancient and well regarded approach in medicine providing countless millions necessary healthcare and at a cost unmatched in the field. Though I could argue the value verses ( well insert any therapy) I feel I would be dragged into a endless illogical back and forth not worthy of ones time. Suffice to say having worked and studies in and out of the medical field for well over 40 years and studying various systems the cost of providing wellness to patients from other methodologies does not benefit as roundly as acupuncture, especially when patients receive their bill. The history of all medicine is rought with examples of failed methods/approaches. One would only have to do a brief overview ( which I'm sure you could repeat) of Galen to agree. This does not include the fringe elements around the world of which at little or no cost ( maybe you could use an aspirin) has furthered the field/system of medicine. Acupuncture does not hold reign over all others yet it's place is well founded, again, in over 2000 years of history. Stay well, stay informed.
