You dropped that bottle and I knew from the shape it was a woodford reserve! Had me a pipe with cordial friends from the country squire and some old Smokey’s whiskey. Made for a nice afternoon. No, I don’t think that we will see a time when homesteaders are all on AI and what not. There are still those who relish in the hands on work, going out and doing it yourself. Just last night I had my son turn off his devices and we sat and read for the last hour of the night. He re-read James, I read and finished The Pursuit of God by Tozer. And we talked through some of what we read. Yes Tozer is over his head, and to be honest, it’s over mine too!

I love Nub cigars, something about those stubby things is just great. Country will stay country as long as we keep it country. City folk are gonna be city folk too. It'll be like all of history. "There is no temptation except such as is common to man." It might be new days, but we're dealing with old demons. Pray hard, read your Bible daily. God is good always. Slainte'

issue with Farm equipment is the maintenance & repair. AI isn't going to grease a Tractor. I suspect the biggest issue is for office jobs as AI likely will replace a lot of workers; Call Centers, Sales, Customer support, etc. Probably AI will be able to hand most of the tasks for those roles. AI will not end low wage service jobs that require physical interaction the real world, resturants, retail stores, etc, as it just not practical to spend a million+ per robot to do those types of jobs.

AI belongs in a dumpster and that’s coming from someone who is a programmer.

Good afternoon, Larry! Thank you for posting another video. I'm in the military right now, and AI is a huge topic of conversation right now within national security. Additionally, I would say that AI could unfortunately be the end of the humanities. Students write essays with ChatGPT and original thought and critical thinking becomes too difficult of work. Why would I write my own essay when I could just type the prompt into the machine? It'll spit out an A+ paper, so why not? Also, the Nub Maduro is one of my top cigars and one of my first. I hope you enjoyed it!

I just hope people can realize that AI is a tool and not a substitute for the human mind

Like any technology, AI will have a positive or negative impact depending on how it’s used-your examples were spot on. I’m in high tech manufacturing. AI is helpful with things like scheduling preventive maintenance and predicting equipment availability. So far it’s not helpful at all with solving new problems like how to automate a new piece of equipment that hasn’t been automated before. The necessary inputs just aren’t there.

I know I'm opposed to AI. For many of the reasons you stated...but most of my opposition, is the weaponizing of it. I never thought of the porn issue, that's scary and sad. One of the main reasons we did not put a TV in our living room is for the reasons you stated about the old days, sitting around the fire and talking. Its tough raising my kids to stay away from all the devices, and not just the AI thing. As soon as our older kids get them, the younger kids want them to. So far I've stayed away from AI and I don't plan on using it, I agree, It isn't going to be good for us in the end. Creativity goes out the window..Keep up the good work, I can't believe though, that you have guests on here like that scary bearded guy that talked about urban homesteading......🤣🤣

unless it's monitoring my soil composition/moisture and controlling the temp in my greenhouse. No. My biggest concern is how it will affect the arts. So many great potential musicians and artists of all kinds will go the easy way and never become who they are, because AI will lead them down a path instead of them finding their own. We are going to lose human experts, and when that giant solar flare finally nails us with an EMP blast and all digital media is erased.... We will have no one alive that knows how to fix it, because of all the manuals are AI bots you reference.
