The better question is "Can Capitalism Stop Having a Future?" This system shows no signs of stopping, with class consciousness barely going above record lows.

Great interview. It's especially interesting about the state of globalisation and the future "project" for the left. I'm in Australia and most of us consider our future to be in Asia. We are a bit betwixt and between. Certainly by insisting on a Eurocentric or Western view of ourselves we manage to continue the colonial mindset which is so destructive to our indigenous/First Nations peoples. Anthropology is telling us amazing new facts which changes the current Out of Africa narrative, for example. We can never return to what was. As with Marx's opening of *Capitalsm* on fashion as a driving force, it is the same with all things: technology, ideas, social movements, politics (the usual long list)..... Our responses must change too. I also appreciated the remarks about the Nobel. Unless it is monetary prizes for mostly scientific research, most awards and prizes are forms of social self-congratulation and definitely maintain often destructive norms. I won't say "orthodox" because sometimes the greatest moments in knowledge are now treated with and regarded as an insult "that's just orthodoxy!".
