Cosplay has definitely helped improve my self-esteem I was super shy through most of my childhood and when I joined an anime club in college where I met all my friends and I became more and more confident .

Cosplay has definitely boosted my self-esteem I used to be so conscious of how I looked because kids used to make fun of my face, I now am not afraid to show my face express myself. People think I do a really adorable Izuku Midoriya without even trying

I always wanted to go to a bigger, fancier comic book convention like in New York.

I put my Cosplaying to good use by doing a lot of volunteer appearances for non-profit organizations and events, doing full character to the delight and surprise of children and adults as well. The benefits of that is you are helping and supporting the community, enlightening people, and having the satisfaction you've not only made a difference, but made the world a better place. BTW: as a hardcore Coser, I don't get out of costume nor character after an event until I get home (my cosplay is public friendly, but still stands out)... Which means I do my errands and shopping while giving people's humdrum daily routines a spark of delight! The power of Cosplay! :)

Cosplay has definitely boosted my self esteem because not only because when I go to a convention and see so many people with my same interests but because I put so much time in my cosplay and I can finally be that character who I love and then going to conventions and people telling me “I love your cosplay!” Or “Wow your cosplay turned out really great!” And knowing that makes me feel more confident because it’s like saying to myself every time somebody complimented me it was like voice saying “you did that, you spent so much time on doing this cosplay and people love it” which makes me feel more and more confident with myself

It has helped me build self confidence. When I made my first cosplay I was worried no one would recognize me but when I wore it to my first con every one recognized who I was and it made me feel like people cared that I put 100+ hours into making it so now I feel like people care about my work and it gives me confidence to work on my cosplays

Even though I'm an older cosplayer. I find it's great for being able to become that character and wear things I would never wear in everyday situations. I'm much more outgoing when I cosplay

"Right now, I'm cosplaying a character who is far more badass than I am, so it makes me feel like I can be that badass too." Same here with my cosplays! 😅

It definitely boosted my self esteem. I started cosplaying in middle school. I was super shy throughout all of elementary and middle. I enjoyed cosplay and one day decided to show it to the world. So I made an insta and went to my first con. I also made a new friend and were still best friends. (Both in high school and almost in college)

Cosplay raised my self esteem really much. I love the Moment, when people look at you, their face brightens up and they come over to you, compliment you and if they may take pictures with you. "Sure, yo. Would be an honor!"

It boosts my self esteem in that I feel really good about my capabilities in making things. Especially when I win awards in a masquerade.

Cosplay helps boost self-esteem and confidence, as well as provide a way to relieve stress [even with pre-convention jitters]. Escapism is a healthy form to seek eustress in. Opens up new social connections between like minds, too.

Cosplay has 100% helped mine. I learned to not care what people think about me cosplaying. I’m happy as characters I love. And especially on TikTok. I love posting cosplay videos for my 10k fans.

Well if you ask me, cosplaying is what makes me more confident than myself and when I try being Wolverine, I was like being Dr. Jekyll at first then Ed Hyde and it's funny that I'm not surprised.

I mean, i don't cosplay or even visit conventions (i just admire it because i admire art in every form), but i'd assume it does build self-esteem considering that it kind of forces you to push yourself out of your comfort zone.

No, living in a false reality is never healthy. Getting over yourself is better than expressing yourself.

Dan hates the man this is a hobby that most people do for fun, the characters people cosplay have made those people happy. So it’s a really cool feeling to become that character for a little. You are living a sad life if you are just getting over yourself. Expressing yourself and who you are is a beautiful way to become confident. Try being nicer to people rather that unkind like you are now

These people are happy while cosplaying it is an art form some cosplays take forever to make it makes people happy please try to think that statement over
