I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2020 Taycan 4S (Lease return) this past weekend. Paid about 50% of the original sticker price. Amazing looking car, with performance to match the looks. Drove it home from LA to the SF Bay area. Looks like my range would be 260 miles when cruising at 70 mph on hwy 5. Recharging at the EA station (350 kw) was very quick. Drove 180 miles, took it from 100% to 30% and recharged from 30% to 70% in < 10 minutes. I've geared myself up for the cost of maintenance, but I went in understanding that maintenance is going to be very expensive. It's a Porsche, that's how it is, I can afford it.

Congrats on the new car and the amazing Taycan at that!! Appreciate the real world range too! Yeah maintenance was something I was not aware of for these cars, but if you are aware of it, I think its an epic car.

Wow! I bought a 2020 4s too with performance battery plus last June and drove it from San Diego to Seattle. Btw not much is to be serviced on a EV besides ac filter (which I bought online for $20 and changed it myself in 10min), and brake fluid bleed (free at dealer due to open recalls on brake lines, otherwise around $100 if done at indie shops every 2 years). There is an incoming battery cell recall too so you might be lucky to have free new battery. Owning 4 porsches now, the key to lower maintenance cost is to either diy or find your own mechanic, and avoid dealer service unless it's free.

I've bought mine too. Certified Pre-Owned 2021 RWD with tons of optionals, including battery plus. Paid 64k Euros. Had an old unused Opel Astra and give it to the dealership, so the final price went down to 57k. If wasn't the depreciation, I couldn't afford it LOL

Lost almost 50% in a year on my Taycan… Be aware cost of purchase isn’t the only thing. The on-board AC charger broke: more than € 5k. The drive train jammed: trip to the dealer on a flat bed. Aircon failed to heat: back to the dealer again. And then you have the absurd pricing of “maintenance” to keep your warranty. General vehicle check and topping up all fluids for € 600. I had surface coated brakes which can add up to € 7k in materials alone to replace them. Normal brakes also costs easily € 5k in materials. Porsches are no joke 🥲

Yep this is why I won't get one even though I think they are fantastic and relatively a bargain, I simply cannot justify the service costs involved. Once out of warantee these things will be interesting, I have a mate who restores 911s and makes very good money doing fairly simple things to get them nice.

Currently ( in the U.K. ) 2 yr old taycan 4s is worth 50-55k , if purchased on a 3yr 12,000 miles per year , is being valued on pcp deals at 15/16k once the deal has run its length . So a taycan that is £80k+ in the U.K. or more depending on spec when new , at 5 yrs old is potentially worth 15k with an est 66-70k miles on the clock The warranty on the battery I believe is 8 yrs from Porsche , so are we saying a Porsche EV is only a viable purchase up to the point it’s 6 yrs old as the third owner you may only get 2 yrs out of the car but potentially the 4th owners would take a huge risk and potentially now way of selling it on after its 8th year ??? I have heard porsche are looking at extending the battery warranty but I bet that’s only on Porsches that are approved used and serviced etc by Porsche directly. I tested a 4s Taycan and was extremely impressed. I’m very tempted by the cross tourismo 4s but I am worried about its residual values if I purchase it out right

I think people wanted Taycans to hold value like a 911 which was never going to happen. The depreciation is quite normal. And I've never seen a $45k pre-owned Taycan or even close to that.

Actually Porsche announced in a recent interview that they are considering offering upgrades to solid state batteries for 2020-2024 Taycans. Plus you have a 8 year warranty anyways to your old battery. So maybe switch for the latest tech in 10 years.

Wha a mess....the infotainment is sharing the same bad overall UI and display with the Audi e-tron cars. Lame duck. The drive train, boosted with the help of RIMAC (you remember, the Porsche / Piech family owns Bugatti and now they shared a lot more with RIMAC and Bugatti, as well as the same CEO), is okay and with the 2025 model much optimized in terms of efficency. But what about the recalls regarding the battery chemical, provided by LG? cars are burning down. check at the NHTSA for them and how they handled the overall process. sorry, not EV from Porsche. the new Macan EV will be completely manufactured in China. Porsche has compared with Tesla ZERO manufacturing experiences with batteries and other main components. Major parts are manufactured by third parties. Which makes it a risk to own this kind of cars. it's not about driving for 2 hrs.
