Paul teaches the Christians who lived in Galatians (5:1-6) that when they are circumcised that they also have to keep the laws of Moses, in order to justify themselves before The Lord God, instead of confessing their sins to The Lord Jesus Christ, they have fallen from grace. In short: people who are circumcised or the uncircumcised, it means nothing to The Lord Jesus Christ! Christians are saved only through their faith in The Lord Jesus Christ! And of course it is possible, and practice teaches us that too, that there are Christians who leave the Lord God and say goodbye to the faith in order to love and serve the world. Let's not forget that the enemy lucifer is very powerful. It is therefore very important for a 'Christian' not to be religious, but become a Born again Christian!

The phrase being “severed” is true but we aren’t severed from our salvation. We are severed from the rewards we receive and fruits through grace. I used to believe in a works based gospel and understood this passage the same way. Jesus is our rest and we enter that rest through grace, not works, and because we are in that rest we get to do good works. We have to die daily reminding ourselves of the Gospel because we can fall away putting ourselves back under the law. This doesn’t nullify the justification of God’s grace, but your good works are no longer good works because you aren’t living under grace but instead under the law. If you go from a gospel of grace to a gospel of works, like I did, your good works aren’t good works because they will be condemned by the law. I think 1 Cor 3 is a good example of this, works will be burned but not our Hope of salvation in Jesus Christ. Proof of this is the example of unbelievers being able to do good works, does that mean they are saved? Nope they are still condemned and so are their works. At judgement, the law will condemn every work, good and bad, unless you are under grace. Only under grace can our good works be truly GOOD WORKS, because we are no longer under the law but under grace. Jesus says your righteous would have to exceed the Pharisees and Jesus says they are nothing but whitewash tombs, workers of lawlessness, men who “followed” the law were works of lawlessness, Matt 23. We aren’t saved by works and we can’t lose our salvation, if we could nobody would be saved. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. (Ro 11:6)

@ Amen. This is the scripture that helped free me from a false gospel. For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. (Heb 4:8-11) You just have to be careful with verse 11. KJV says “labour”. Labour is a bad translation because verse 10 says we don’t work. Geneva says “study”. We study diligently, striving to stay in the understanding of GRACE. Judaizers will tell you that the sabbath needs to be upheld. According to this scripture Jesus is our sabbath day rest. That means everyday is a sabbath, not just Saturdays and Sundays. If you are in Jesus Christ everyday is a sabbath. The only way we can enter that rest (Matt 11:28) is by not working, and the only way to not work is by GRACE (Ro 11:6). The only way to stay in that rest is continuing under GRACE. Only then can our good works be GOOD WORKS, because we aren’t under the law. Works under Grace is a reward, not a wage earned. Works under the law is “Labour” and deserves a wage. The only thing we are deserving of is death. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ro 6:23) And knowledge of sin comes from the law. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. (Ro 3:20) That’s why those who live by the Law are condemned. Only Grace can free use from our bondage to it. This is both our justification and sanctification. Grace is both. If you leave Grace for the Law your sanctification is compromised.

6:30 but talking about the practical part: what if you went out following the law and torn that new flesh inside that was miraculously assembled in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. You know that dense stuff in your heart that you fill in your chest. So, it’s gone. So I go back to faith but that dense thing doesn’t come back. How do I deal with that. ( I always thought Paul was talking about this when he told Galatians: “ you’ve torn yourself from Christ”).

Jesus tells us believers clearly in numerous verses about the danger of returning to sin after believing in Him. In closing, He reiterates His point (and the consequence) in Revelation Ch 1-3 in the letters to the churches.

Amen! Yes, Jesus does indeed address the dangers of returning to sin and the need for faithful perseverance in multiple passages. In the letters to the seven churches in Revelation chapters 2-3, Jesus specifically warns believers of the consequences of falling into sin or abandoning their devotion to Him. Each letter speaks to the different struggles these early churches faced, providing guidance, correction, and encouragement to overcome. these letters serve as powerful reminders that while salvation is by grace, our lives should bear the evidence of faith. Jesus’ words emphasize that ongoing repentance, commitment, and resistance to sin are marks of a faithful believer, and they encourage us to strive toward a life that honors Him fully. These passages show that salvation isn’t a one-time declaration but a lifelong walk with God, empowered by His Spirit, until we meet Him face-to-face.

@@johnpearce3714 1 John 1:5-10 addresses the danger of living in sin after coming into the light of Christ. It emphasizes that God is light, meaning He is pure and without sin. To walk with God, we must walk in this light, turning away from darkness (sin). Here’s a breakdown of each verse: Verse 5: “God is light; in Him, there is no darkness at all.” This sets a clear standard. God’s nature is wholly good and holy, and anything contrary to His nature (sin) separates us from Him. Verse 6: If we claim to have fellowship with God yet walk in darkness, we are lying. Claiming to be close to God while engaging in sin is self-deception. It implies that we’re rejecting the truth and not truly living out our faith. Verse 7: Walking in the light (living righteously) allows us to have genuine fellowship with God and each other. The blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin. This means that while we are called to avoid sin, God’s grace covers us when we repent and turn back to Him. Verse 8: Denying that we have sin is dangerous, as it keeps us from repentance. Admitting our sinful nature is the first step toward spiritual growth and transformation. Verse 9: When we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive and purify us. Confession keeps us aligned with God, allowing us to live in His light. Verse 10: Claiming we have never sinned implies that we don’t need God’s forgiveness, which is self-deception. It reflects an attitude of pride, keeping us in darkness. The warning here is clear: returning to sin and denying it breaks our fellowship with God. Continually sinning without repentance suggests we’re not truly committed to walking in God’s light. Embracing the truth of our sinful nature and seeking God’s grace enables us to remain in the light, avoiding the danger of self-deception and separation from Him. Remember, the Holy Spirit is essential for living a life of obedience and aligning ourselves with Christ. The Holy Spirit is not only a helper but the empowering presence of God in our lives, guiding us in truth, convicting us of sin, and enabling us to live righteously. The Holy Spirit is Gods seal of salvation, and your evidence you have been truly Born Again. The Holy Spirit is the KEY!

The Bible teaches that salvation, once received, is secure. This is based on the promises of God, not on our own ability to maintain it. Ephesians 1:13-14 says: "And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory." The Holy Spirit serves as a seal of our salvation, guaranteeing that we are secure in Christ. This shows that our salvation is not based on our works, but on the finished work of Christ and God's faithfulness. While salvation is secure in Christ, it does not give us the freedom to continue sinning. Romans 6:1-2 makes this clear: "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" Grace is not a free pass to sin, but a power to overcome sin. Titus 2:12 also teaches that grace leads to godliness: "It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.. The Holy Spirit is essential to the believer’s salvation. Romans 8:9 says: "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." When a person is saved, they are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, who seals them for redemption and empowers them to live a godly life. 1 Corinthians 12:13 says that we are all baptized by the Spirit into one body, meaning that the Holy Spirit is the one who connects us to Christ and guarantees our salvation. Once we are saved, we are called to live by the Spirit, who empowers us to live the life God calls us to. Galatians 5:16 encourages us: "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." The Holy Spirit not only seals our salvation but also guides and empowers us to live in a way that honors God, bearing the fruit of the Spirit.

That's not quite right! A Christian can leave the faith on his own initiative. We see this not only in the New Testament (Judas Iscariot and many followers of the Lord Jesus Christ) but also in today's modern world, where many famous people suddenly abandon their faith and choose a contract with Lucifer!

So many say there are false converts if the person fails to live a certain way as a Christian and that will even say salvation is by faith ALONE….” but there’s more to it than that”. I know our works don’t save us and are part of the sanctification process. I lost a friendship with a woman who actually has a KZbin channel where she has Christian topics because she was talking recently about “ they believe in vain “ as referring to fake Christian conversions. I tried to explain that it was referring to belief in a false gospel / if Christ had risen and even sent her a video and also told her about the many Bibleline videos on soteriology. She stated she believes it’s by faith but “ it’s deeper than that”. She does acknowledge that sanctification is separate thing from salvation. She teaches a lot on false teachers , such as the NAR, WOF and even speaks against Calvinism and gets a lot right but ironically in a way , she advocates a form of Calvinism/ works salvation. I care about her but decided to cut ties because on her channel, she could routinely adds this mindset when she talks about who is and isn’t saved. She refused to watch the video I sent or although she has watched some of your channel, she declined to research this further. I believe there are false converts because they believe in a different gospel/ Jesus etc such as Mormonism or in Christian denominations that add works. There are people that say they believe but don’t mean it yet there are many that do believe and don’t act like it. Is there any input to shed light on this categorization of “ true “ vs false Christians since it is by profession and not fruit inspection that is really the only litmus test for assuming a professing Christian is saved. There are so many confused on this and get very angry in their unwillingness to even listen to any other source , even if it’s a biblically sound pastor ( and oh the backlash if a pastor’s/ church’s KZbin channel is referenced ) A false convert is _______ 🤔 ( I’m keeping her and the channel anonymous out of respect ) It’s been very upsetting but sadly it’s not the first type of reaction to be gotten trying to discuss the topic. Thank you

Salvation is not just about being saved from sin’s penalty but also about being transformed to live a new life in Christ. Ephesians 2:8-10 beautifully captures this: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This passage reminds us that, while our salvation is a gift of grace, the purpose of our transformation is so that we can live out that grace through good works. When we are saved, we receive a new identity in Christ, and the Holy Spirit begins the work of renewing our hearts and minds. This transformation empowers us to turn away from willful sin and grow in holiness, reflecting Christ’s character. Romans 12:2 encourages us, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Through this transformation, we are equipped to fulfill the good works God has planned for us. Our actions become a natural outflow of the Spirit’s work in us, demonstrating God’s love, grace, and power to those around us. Good works don’t earn our salvation, but they are the fruit of a life transformed by God’s grace.
@Smerm
@Smerm Ай бұрын
@ I’d suggest you rewatch the video and also their other teachings about this specifically on “ fruit “ Upon salvation, our flesh is not and can not be changed. We do , however , get a new spirit but must choose to walk in one or the other. A transformed life is not a lot is test for someone’s salvation. A lost person can clean up their life and still not be saved. My question was to clarify if there is any type of “ tangible “ distinction between a believer and a “ false convert” ….. there is likely only one difference and that is if they have trusted in Christ alone for their salvation…. If so , how they live afterwards is their choice of their discipleship and sanctification. But that’s subjective when using that to define a person as saved . Their profession is really the only thing we can go by and if it’s the wrong gospel or Jesus then I’d say they are false converts.

A false convert is not a term I even use. You’re converted or you aren’t. You’ve believed or you haven’t believed. You’re saved or you aren’t. “False convert” is a very much reformed idea of those who “say they’ve believed, but really haven’t believed because they have no fruit.” God never gave them faith, never worked in them, etc etc… This is false teaching. If you’ve believe, you’ve believed. Period. Yes, there is more to sanctification, but there is not “more to” salvation apart from faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life. - Trent

@@BibleLine No, its not if you believe, you've believed period. While it's true that salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone, Scripture does caution that there are people who may appear to believe but do not genuinely embrace faith in their hearts. Jesus and the apostles often addressed this distinction, suggesting that “false conversion” is not about adding to salvation but about distinguishing genuine, heart-level faith from superficial believe. Jesus’ Teaching on Superficial Faith: In the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:1-23), Jesus describes different responses to the gospel. Some seeds fall on rocky soil, representing people who initially receive the word with joy but fall away when difficulties arise because their roots weren’t deep. This parable indicates that not all responses to the gospel reflect saving faith; some are superficial and do not result in lasting transformation. Jesus Himself warns about false converts in Matthew 7:21-23, where He says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Here, Jesus acknowledges that there are people who profess faith but don’t actually know Him. This distinction doesn’t add to the requirement for salvation; it highlights that true saving faith results in a life marked by a genuine relationship with God. The Fruit of Genuine Faith: While salvation is indeed by faith alone, Scripture does teach that true faith produces fruit (James 2:17-18, Galatians 5:22-23). Jesus says, “You will recognize them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16). A “false convert” isn’t someone who is missing a checklist of behaviors but someone who may profess faith without the inward transformation and relationship with Christ that true faith brings. In Acts 8:9-24, Simon the Sorcerer is an example of someone who “believed” and was baptized, yet his heart was not right before God. Peter rebukes him, saying, “Your heart is not right before God.” Simon’s example shows that a profession of faith without a true transformation can lead to a life inconsistent with salvation. Paul also acknowledges that people should examine their faith to see if it’s genuine. In 2 Corinthians 13:5, he writes, “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.” This does not mean that people should add requirements to salvation, but it does recognize the reality of people who may appear to believe but do not genuinely trust Christ. In short, “false convert” isn’t a term to add to salvation but to recognize that true faith in Christ transforms lives. While the term may feel Reformed, the concept has biblical grounding as a caution against mere verbal assent to the gospel without genuine trust and transformation. Saving faith, according to Scripture, is faith that leads to a real relationship with God-one marked by both trust in Christ and a desire to grow in Him. Its what you dont understand, and that is because you must possess the Holy Spirit to realize your error. You dont just say I believe and thats it, Period, that settles it, and I am saved. Wrong!

You cannot lose your salvation. God knows the final outcome. He is not an 'INDIAN GIVER' an inappropriate phrase, but best to describe it. He gave you the HOLY SPIRIT,. You know JESUS is GOD, you accept his kingship, his authority. But you are FLEASH and BLOOD and totally corrupt on earth. God knows that. He does not expect us to be ANGELS? even the angels are FALLEN? to be JUDGED. So as a human being you are always FLAWED. a sinner. This is why we are not enabled? When we are transformed, in that instant. WE ARE GODS. Our FLESH is GONE. all our capacity for flesh driven sin is gone. NO penis-vagina psychology. No ego? You are a new creation. God is not interested in your minutia. He wants a commitment as a BRIDE. You are a bride? about to be married. If you are thinking of running off? eloping with SATAN? then that is quite a pole shift. If you are sincere.. about being a bride. Shut up and accept you are saved. Stop playing mind games. OWN IT. Ephesians 1 - you are sealed. Stop flip flopping. Start attacking Satan. you cannot ever claim to be good by your own deeds. GOD CHANGED YOU - you are BORN AGAIN. that does not mean you are the finished product yet.

Happy Friday! There is a verse I read a while back that I have been thinking about and would appreciate your thoughts, since this video has to do with the law. Which is Romans 7:12 (KJV) Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. That came after 6-7 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. Which sounds a lot like Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. (we are saved by grace ---> but still don't sin) (we are delivered from the law ---> but the law is still holy and good) I know we are saved by grace, and it is not of works in any way. However we also know once we are saved God wants us to stay away from sin. My question is, if we are to stay away from sin after we are saved, is Romans 7:12 saying that the law is still a Holy guideline?

I've read before about distinguishing between ceremonial, civil, and moral laws. How do people decide which are which? Is that something God does or is that something that Christians do. Because it looks like picking and choosing. If God wanted Israel to be set apart by certain laws, wouldn't it make sense for all Christians to follow them to be set apart?

The law is ultimately fulfilled through love. Love is actually the higher calling, hence all the law is fulfilled in living God and neighbor. Examples: If I love God, I’ll eradicate idols. If I love my wife, I won’t cheat on her. If I love my friend, I won’t kill him. Jesus didn’t break any laws, but he fulfilled them through love. We are to live after the same manner. And we know that there is no law against walking in the spirit. The fruit of the Spirit (singular) is love. Love manifests itself in the other terms mentioned (Gal. 5:22-23). The error in Galatia wasn’t that Christians were burdening other Christians by telling them to work harder. The error was legalizing Judaizers were ADDING requirements to salvation (circumcision and lawkeeping) beyond just faith in Christ alone. We know the law could never save a man, because a man can never keep the law!! Now that we have the Spirit and a new nature, we technically DO adhere to the law by walking in love and in that Spirit. It’s not to be bondage, but it is to be love and service toward our Holy and Righteous God. Cf also Romans 13 - Trent

The believer is not actually set free until they believe and born again with the Spirit and walk in the Spirit by faith. This is the same way Paul talks in Romans when he says if a believer continues to walk in the flesh they will die spiritually and not reap eternal life and for those who continue to walk in the Spirit will reap eternal life. So, ongoing faith and obedience is required to receive your inheritance when you die. Is not not what can happen to a believer who goes back to living in sin (walking in the flesh) as described in the prodigal son, 10 virgins, seed and sower, vine and branches, Heb 6 and 10, etc.?

Your Sunday School teacher's statement, "If saved, always saved," refers to the doctrine of eternal security. This teaching suggests that once a person is genuinely saved through faith in Jesus Christ, their salvation is secure and cannot be lost. However, salvation is not based on works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Works are not the means of salvation but the evidence of it (James 2:17-18). A true believer, transformed by the Holy Spirit, will naturally produce good works as a fruit of their faith. Salvation rests in God's grace, not our actions.

The context of Galatians 5 is explained thoroughly in the video. It is not talking about a loss of salvation. The Galatians knew the truth, and they were saved according to their faith in Christ. They slipped away from the truth of that message and attempted to trust in themselves. Hence "fallen from grace" means that they took their eyes off the true message and believed another message. Nonetheless, it is that same grace of God that keeps them saved into eternal life. - Trent

Free Grace theology can appeal to people by emphasizing salvation without emphasizing responsibility for spiritual growth. This "ear-tickling" aligns with 2 Timothy 4:3-4, where Paul warns of people seeking teachings that suit their desires rather than pursuing sound doctrine. While salvation is entirely by grace, a true understanding of grace leads to transformation and a desire to become more like God. Genuine grace does not excuse a lack of growth but empowers believers to live in holiness. Free Grace theology, by minimizing responsibility and the call to holiness, can be spiritually dangerous. It can lead to complacency, where people may believe their salvation is secure without pursuing the transformation that the Holy Spirit works in them. Scripture teaches that salvation isn’t just a one-time event but a continual process of becoming more like Christ. The absence of pressure to grow in godliness can prevent believers from bearing the fruit of true repentance and living a life that honors God.

I cited GAL.5.19-21and Bibleline just explained it away and set aside the clear meaning of the apostle Paul that going back to a sinful lifestyle put even true believers like the GALATIANS at risk of not inheriting God's kingdom. @Outsider4JC
@Outsider4JC Ай бұрын
@@CesarDanao well many of them believe that simply believing God exists is enough for salvation, but being born again involves more than merely believing in God's existence. James 2:19 reminds us that even demons believe in God, yet they are not saved. True salvation requires: Faith in Jesus Christ: Acknowledging Him as Savior and Lord. Repentance: Turning away from sin and toward God. Receiving the Holy Spirit: Allowing Him to transform your heart and empower you to live for God. This transformation is the evidence of a new life in Christ. When you truly receive the Holy Spirit, transformation follows naturally. The Holy Spirit doesn't just reside within you; He works actively to reshape your heart, thoughts, and actions. Galatians 5:22-23 describes the "fruit of the Spirit"-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control-that begins to manifest in a believer's life. This evidence shows how the Holy Spirit leads you away from sinful habits and toward a Christ-like character. That is why they have no conviction, and continue living any way that they want, and think God is fine with it, because they have not been truly born again, and filled with the Spirit of God. If so, they would desire to live in obedience with God. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to turn away from sin, guides them in understanding God's Word, and strengthens them to live righteously. His presence transforms our hearts, aligning our desires with God's will and fostering genuine obedience out of devotion, not duty.

Why is the book of Galatians written if one can’t go back to the Law and forsake Christ (He is no longer of benefit)? Is it just an empty warning?

The book of Galatians addresses the issue of believers being tempted to go back to the Law for righteousness, showing how serious and detrimental this choice is. Paul’s warning is not empty; rather, it serves to redirect believers who are veering away from the truth of the gospel back to grace. In Galatians, Paul stresses that adding the Law to faith nullifies the very purpose of Christ’s sacrifice and the gift of grace, warning them of the spiritual consequences of this path. Paul reminds the Galatians that, through Christ, they have been set free from the bondage of the Law (Galatians 5:1). To return to the Law is to willingly re-enter slavery, forfeiting the freedom that Christ provides. By “falling from grace” (Galatians 5:4), they risk drifting from a relationship based on faith and grace back to one based on works and self-effort, which cannot save.

the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation. Intellectual belief in God alone doesn’t save us. The Holy Spirit is the one who regenerates us, making us spiritually alive in Christ (John 3:5-6). He convicts us of sin and leads us to true faith in Jesus (John 16:8). Without the Holy Spirit, we can’t be born again, and we can't live the Christian life or grow in holiness (Romans 8:9). The Spirit seals us as God’s children and guarantees our eternal inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14). Salvation is about a personal transformation by the Spirit, not just agreeing with facts about God. The Holy Spirit gives believers spiritual gifts and empowers them for service in God’s kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:4-11). Intellectual belief alone doesn't equip us to do God’s work-it's the Holy Spirit who empowers us to fulfill the calling God has placed on our lives.

@DougandMax
@DougandMax Ай бұрын
I don't think the word "blood" has to be specifically mentioned when a person is hearing the gospel. If they trust only in the finished work of Jesus Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection) for eternal life, then they are saved. The shed blood of Christ is implicit in all this, but it doesn't have to be explicitly understood. Otherwise, I think anyone who came to faith in Christ as a child would need to question whether they really understood enough to be saved. Salvation is simple. There are a lot of things I still don't fully understand about the shed blood of Christ. For instance, I think the Scriptures support the idea that Jesus sprinkled His literal blood upon the mercy seat in heaven, but I have no way of discerning the timing of that event. Did it happen before He uttered the words "It is finished" in John 19:30? That would seem to make the most sense to me, but some commentators believe He did it at some point after He told Mary "Don't cling to me" in John 20:17. There are a lot of things I don't think we'll ever fully be able to grasp. Thankfully, we don't need to understand all of these points in order to receive the free gift of eternal life.

I was trying to find in the passages of scripture cited where it says falling away from grace “ is not about salvation, that one is fallen away from what you can do in the Christian life”. The Lord says we can bear no fruit apart from him. The branch not bearing fruit is eventually cut off , withers and is burned. I do see where in those passages scripture says: 1. Christ will be of no advantage to you 2. If you accept circumcision you are you are obligated to keep the whole law 3. You are then severed from Christ 4. You have now fallen away from Grace 5. It is through the Spirit (G_d) by Faith that we await righteousness Gal 5 : 2-5 “2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. 3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. 4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified[a] by the law; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.” There are many warnings to believers to not fall away , not apostatize. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: We are born with a dead spirit that why we most be born again. We do not have free will when it come to salvation, we must be called by God to be saved. Paul said in Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, Jesus said no one can come to him without the Father calls them. John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. No, is your soul going to be judged upon what Jesus did for you or what you did yourself? Romans 5:19 King James Version 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Let's discuss this, are you a sinner because Adam sinned, or are you a sinner because you sinned? Likewise, your not righteous because Christ is righteous, but you are righteous because you do righteousness, also known as walking after the Spirit. 1 John 3:5-7 King James Version 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. Every man will give an account for the things done in the body. The soul that sins shall die. Ezekiel 18:20 New King James Version 20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. Jesus took away sin in the flesh, not the sin that the soul has committed. Man, natural man, is appointed once to die, and then the judgment. Hebrews 9:27 King James Version 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: We are freed from the law of sin in the FLESH, by the body of Christ, this this is the redemption of the body, not the soul. Romans 7:4 King James Version 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. We must die to sin. We do this by walking in the Spirit, never to gratify the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 King James Version 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. If we walk after the flesh, we will die, the soul that sins shall die. Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

It seems that many Christians in the western world confuse salvation with our eternal position and relationship with Father,Son and Spirit as His offspring, sons and daughters. We were redeemed,justified, reconciled and born again, by the blood, the death, and the resurrection of Christ. Every bit of that truth was accomplished by Jesus without our choosing or believing. Salvation on the other hand is the temporal experience of that eternal position and inheritance and the benefits of it. Salvation, primarily affects our soul and our rescue, healing, being made whole and cared for in this temporal life experience. When we leave our physical bodies behind, there is no need for the benefit of salvation. It applies to this temporal life, not our eternal destiny and experience. Jesus Himself took care of that not only for us, but as us.
@wanderer44-xr5si
@wanderer44-xr5si Ай бұрын
Salvation is not just about a future inheritance or a temporal experience. It’s a comprehensive reality that involves being justified and reconciled with God, right now (Romans 5:1). Ephesians 2:8-9 speaks of salvation as a gift received by faith: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Here, salvation is not something only applied to the eternal future, but something that happens now by grace through faith. The idea that salvation only affects us in a temporal sense overlooks the New Testament emphasis that salvation is a transformation of both our eternal position and our present reality. You are correct that Christ's sacrifice on the cross, His death, and His resurrection are the means by which we are redeemed, justified, and reconciled. However, the application of this salvation requires faith and acceptance on our part. Romans 10:9 says: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This shows that salvation is not just something that happened for us 2,000 years ago; it's something we must actively receive and live in today. While Christ’s work on the cross was finished, we must believe in it and accept it in order to experience the fullness of salvation. The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in applying salvation to our lives. Ephesians 1:13-14 says: "And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory." The Holy Spirit not only guarantees our eternal inheritance but also transforms us in the present. Salvation is not merely about the eternal position but also about being made new and transformed in this life. Romans 8:9 tells us that the presence of the Spirit in us is evidence that we belong to Christ: "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." This transformation through the Holy Spirit is part of both the present and eternal salvation.

@ Pretty much my whole point. Salvation is for now, not later. And people have attached being redeemed, justified, reconciled and born again to the meaning of salvation. Those things were done by Jesus apart from any involvement of ours, just as the old covenant atonement pictured. We were born again by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not by our believing and confessing. And we literally were born again long before we were born physically. We died with Christ and we were born again when we raised from that death with Him. Kind of the opposite of typical evangelical teachings. Truth nonetheless.

@@bradharford6052 It sounds like you're describing salvation as a past, completed event without need for personal belief or confession to make it effective in one’s life today. While it's true that Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection accomplished redemption, justification, and reconciliation, Scripture consistently teaches that these benefits are applied to us individually through personal faith, not automatically. The New Testament presents salvation as both a finished work of Christ and something we must receive and live in by faith. The gift of salvation was accomplished through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, but it isn’t merely a historical fact applied universally. It becomes real in our lives when we personally accept Christ and are transformed by the Holy Spirit. This view doesn’t diminish the finished work of Christ but emphasizes our participation in it, as faith brings us into that redemptive relationship with God. You are not saved before you were born. You still must put your faith and trust in Jesus verbally. Its not automatic. And when you do that, He sends the Holy Spirit to live inside. The Holy Spirit is your seal of salvation.

@ Actually we were not chosen in Christ before we were born, we were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world. We had as much choice in being born again as we had in being born physically. We had as much choice of being found in Christ as we had in being lost in Adam. None. The faith and believing and receiving are all part of our growing up in the family of God. They have everything to do with our receiving the benefits of our inheritance but nothing to do with our being an heir. A mysterious spiritual reality that few understand because in the western world we were never taught it. That is changing in the age we are living in now.

@@bradharford6052 This perspective seems to suggest that salvation is predetermined, likening it to being born physically, where we have no choice or personal response in the matter. However, Scripture provides multiple passages that emphasize the necessity of personal faith and response to God’s grace in Jesus Christ. Let’s consider some points that show how faith and belief are essential to becoming part of God’s family. While we were indeed chosen in Christ “before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4), this doesn’t imply that individuals have no role in accepting this gift. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Here, faith is highlighted as the means through which we receive grace. God’s predestination involves knowing and calling us, but it doesn’t override our personal response to His call. Being chosen by God and being born again involve both God’s grace and our individual faith. While it is true that we are chosen in Christ before the world’s foundation, we are invited to respond personally to the gospel. Faith and belief aren’t just ways to understand our inheritance; they are necessary for entering into that inheritance and being born into God’s family. This balance between God’s sovereignty and our response is essential to the biblical picture of salvation.

@duncanmac2195 Read and tell me what is missing in Genesis. This argument is centuries old. 7 billion people exist. 1.5 billion are (or claim to be) Christian. No hell , no angels. "In the beginning God created the Heavens and earth"......Genesis 1 :1-6...

Let’s look at what the Bible says about angels, hell, and the origin of the New Testament. Hopefully, this provides some clarity on how these topics are addressed across Scripture. While Genesis does not explicitly describe the creation of angels, Scripture does affirm their existence and their role in God’s creation. In Colossians 1:16, we read that “by Him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him.” The mention of “thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers” refers to spiritual beings, including angels, created by God. While the specific timing of their creation isn’t given in Genesis, we know from Job 38:4-7 that angels (“the sons of God”) were present, rejoicing as God laid the foundations of the earth, indicating they were created before humanity. Hell, or the concept of divine judgment and a place of punishment, is not limited to the New Testament. While the Old Testament does not use the word “hell” directly, it speaks about Sheol, the realm of the dead, where the wicked experience separation from God. For example: Psalm 9:17 says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell [Sheol], and all the nations that forget God.” Isaiah 66:24 describes a place of punishment: “And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched.” In the New Testament, Jesus provides a fuller revelation of hell as a place of judgment, using terms like “Gehenna” (a place of burning), and He often warns of the consequences of sin and separation from God (Matthew 25:41, Mark 9:43). Far from being a Roman invention, these warnings are consistent with the Old Testament’s teachings on judgment and separation from God for the wicked. The New Testament is not a Roman invention. Its books were written by apostles and early followers of Jesus, primarily in the first century AD, before the rise of institutionalized Roman Christianity. Here’s a quick timeline: The New Testament writings date back to within decades of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection. Scholars agree that most of Paul’s letters were written in the 50s AD, while the Gospels were written between 60-90 AD, based on eyewitness accounts and oral traditions. There are thousands of early New Testament manuscripts, some dating back to the second century. This is far closer to the time of the original events than manuscripts for other ancient texts, providing strong evidence for the New Testament’s authenticity and reliability. The New Testament originated in the Jewish communities of Judea and Galilee, not in Rome. Jesus and His apostles were Jewish, and the early church grew first in Jewish and Eastern communities (Antioch, Jerusalem, etc.) before spreading to Rome. Early church leaders, like Peter and Paul, actually faced persecution from Rome, which opposed Angels: Though Genesis does not explicitly mention their creation, other parts of the Bible clarify that angels were created by God as part of the unseen creation. Hell: The concept of divine judgment and punishment exists in the Old Testament and is expanded upon by Jesus and His apostles. The New Testament was not a Roman invention. It was written by early Jewish believers based on the life and teachings of Jesus, with a rich historical manuscript tradition supporting its reliability.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

@nicholasisaiah53john316 I walk a path that a majority of men walk. I see what the Christian doctrine has done. How , if left unchecked things like the Crusades / Inquisitions / Burning of intellectuals / Multiple understandings of a single text. All willing to kill their brethren in the name of "the one true God".....And , so on...All resulting in a macabre dungeon of horrors for those that use free will......Not !!!
