A good example is that the Qur'an was memorised in the lifetime of the Prophet PBUH, and it was his friends who compiled an official copy of the mushaf. There is also the fact that it was 23 years of revelation and when it's been completed. It's interesting conversation as it's more casual and rather not the usual type of chat you see on line.

I think the better argument is that.. in islam we have a chain of narration back to the time of the prophet (SAW), whether it is the Qur'an or even the hadith (there's actually a science to prove whether the hadith is valid). so what he said about "we would never know cause it's such a long time ago" doesn't have any basis. you can even find one of the oldest Qur'an in Birmingham which dated back to the sahaba times (which the actual Qur'an has been memorised letter by letter by thousands of people even before the writing happened). alsooo prophet Muhammad (SAW) has NEVER LIED for 40 years of his lifetime, even his WORST ENEMY admitted that. why would he suddenly decided to lie to just GET EXPELLED and HARRASSED in his own hometown? he was OFFERED to get whatever he wanted (whether it is money, fame, women, kingship) as long as he STOP preaching Islam. why would a person being HONEST for his ENTIRE LIFE rejected such a magnificent offer? sallallahu ala Muhammad.

If you need to threaten people to defend your religion...Your religion does not have a solid foundation for the Truth. If you need to tell lies about another religion to defend your religion... Your religion does not have a solid foundation for the truth It's incredibly ironic how the religion that teaches to love one another is the one criticized and looked down upon, but the one that demands nonbelievers either convert or face death is protected. Imagine being so insecure about your faith that if someone criticizes it, you don't debate them, you threaten their lives!
