Part of John L. Sullivan (first recognized world boxing champion) diet during training camp was a dark beer to gain weight and a light beer (I think Bass beer) to lose weight. Strong liquor (like vodka) was used in long fights through out the years in the final rounds... ha.

For some reason , when using Vitargo + Electrolytes +EAA Intra workout , my recovery is so much better . I don't get any sore , and I feel much better during and after my workout .(All that during summer time , and following your Strength 1 and powerlifting 2 programs)

ya they didnt talk on EAA intraworkout at all.. its proteins that u dont need to spend time breaking down digesting the same as whey protein or another protein powder where the amino acids are yet to be broken down

I think the best benefit of intraworkout is not necessarily performance itself during the workout but recovery after the workout.

Hokken et al 2020 study might suggest otherwise: Glycogen was assessed at three levels within muscle cells; intermyofibrillar, intramyofibrillar & subsarcolemmal. Muscle glycogen decreased by 38%. But there was a higher glycogen use by type 2 fibres than by type 1 fibres (50% vs 30%). And location-specific analysis showed that in type 2 fibres, whilst there were large decreases in all subcellular locations, the largest decrease (72%) was in intramyofibrillar glycogen. And importantly, 48% of the type 2 fibres demonstrated close to completely depleted levels of intramyofibrillar glycogen. Previous research has shown that large decreases in intramyofibrillar glycogen to be associated with reduced contractile force production. Overall, these findings suggest that it may be plausible that glycogen-depletion could at least play some role in fatigue development during a typical powerlifting session.

What about amino acids during resistance training? Is the benefit worth purchasing the supplements? Edit: and does eating a meal a couple hours prior to exercise make up for the lack of aminos during a workout?
