I was waiting for this reaction for awhile now! Ever since I heard the song for the first time. Would you guys say you liked this song on the same level as To the Hellfire or no? Personally I thought that Sun//Eater was better. Sure it didn’t have the same shock value that To the Hellfire had. Plus the final breakdown and chorus in To the Hellfire were phenomenal of course. But I just felt like the symphonic elements were better in this one, that intro was fucking beautiful, the drums were disgustingly good, Will’s vocals stood out more and I just felt like it was better produced as well. Of course that’s just my opinion. Will and the gang killed it on this track, definitely a top 5 for me this year, and I can’t wait for October! Also! I don’t know if you guys have already, but check out Godkiller by A Wake in Providence! It’s the band that Will used to do vocals for. Song is spicy. 🔥
@LeMichaelJordansPoleRiders2 жыл бұрын
This is such a good song but to the Hellfire in my opinion is better in terms of how it flows all through out. It doesn't have a common song structure but all parts of the song makes sense and not in a forced kind of way if you know what I mean.
@adivinesurvivor25062 жыл бұрын
@@LeMichaelJordansPoleRiders Hmm.. yeah I understand what you’re saying. I really did enjoy the song structure of To the Hellfire as well. It just flowed really well and it flowed into the other songs of the EP as well.
@LeMichaelJordansPoleRiders2 жыл бұрын
@@adivinesurvivor2506 i know a lot of people said that they preferred Of the Abyss as the best song in the EP. But to me, I just thought that it was kinda bit too much over the top and had some parts that were almost as if it was showing off the bands skill obviously. Like the breakdown was like done not because it flowed well with the song but just to make it more brutal sounding and heavy. Also the guitar solo on that song for me is the worst in all 3 songs on the EP although Adam's guitar tones were pretty much the same on AIRTN and this song. I felt like it didn't vibe that much. For example, guitar solos on some of Trivium's songs. They just seem to be a bit overdone and would have made the song a bit better if some solos were minimalized or shortened. I am also a Trivium fan btw, and I love Matt Heafy's work aside from Trivium.

I’m just going to say it. I’ve never been overly impressed by Lorna Shore, even when Pissy McCreery was involved. This song isn’t an exception. For me, that is. I’m not taking anything away from their musical talent, clearly people like them and that’s for a reason. I’ve just never been impressed by them.
@ClusterDSA2 жыл бұрын
I mean, you can certainly not enjoy their music, that's a matter of taste. But if you aren't impressed that just means you don't understand what you are hearing and seeing. It's like if you were to watch the best athlete in the world at whatever sport preform at the top of their game and your response is that you aren't impressed. That simply means you lack an understanding of the difficulty in doing what they are doing. I don't enjoy basketball but I'm certainly impressed by the best players in the world even if I don't find it that entertaining. Perhaps that isn't what you mean to say and you should consider rewording it to better express what you want to say. Or maybe that is what you mean to say, I'm certainly not going to speak for you.

@@ClusterDSA Just seen this lol. "If you aren't impressed that just means you don't understand what you are hearing and seeing" like I don't listen to this kind of music lol. I'm in a comment section of an obscure KZbin channel in one of the more obscure music scenes in the world. I know exactly what I'm hearing, and what I'm seeing. I'm not flaming or trying to start/resurrect an argument from a 6 month old comment, but I disagree with what you've said, and think the anecdote, although humorous, is applied wrong.
@chemical.christ2 жыл бұрын
@@asaprabbit8305 Completely agreed mate
@ClusterDSA2 жыл бұрын
@@chemical.christ You are doing exactly that though. And I didn't share an anecdote. I told no story of an event. I gave an example of how enjoyment of a thing is different from respect for the difficulty in doing a thing. Weather or not someone is impressed by something, and I mean ANYTHING, is entirely based off of their understanding of it's difficulty and rarity. Their respect for that difficulty and rarity. So if you aren't impressed by someone so clearly talented, the only reason that can be is a lack of understanding. That you believe what he is doing to be easy and commonplace, which it is not. Or that you lack the ability to distinguish between enjoyment of, and respect for, a skill.
