Love mine....but not quite as much as my Lollar Special T's ...but as much as my Fralin Blues Special. Dropped them into a CV50 and a couple Harley Bentons (same set). Nice touch. The Nocasters are easier to find used....got a mint set for $140 (normally $219, circa June 2024).

I’ve just put Twisted Teles in my guitar and yes - I really don’t like the bridge pickup at all. & I hate how the middle position sounds - really flimsy. Going to buy a set of Nocasters and see how it sounds with the TT in the neck & the NC in the bridge.
@craiglush4435 жыл бұрын
You could get a set custom wound to the spec of a nocaster bridge and a twisted tele neck. There is a local guy where i live makes some of the best pickups your will ever hear. Great guy to deal with and will make what you want www.vineham.com/index.html . Craig Vineham of Vineham Pickups in Canada. Great prices too.

Trying to decide between CS 51 Nocaster or CS Texas Special pick ups. I dig the snap and twang of the Tele bridge, but it must be able to do classic rock as well, both crunch and lead. Thoughts, recommendations?
@JulianDaniels2 жыл бұрын
I think I would go for the Texas Specials. The Nocaster sound great but the output is a bit too low for rock stuff imo.
@nickf93922 жыл бұрын
@@JulianDaniels I did in fact go with the Texas Special in the bridge, and its a great PU, it does all the classic Tele sound and does have a convincing edge with overdriven amp. Just one issue that it does have, high pitch squeal when played with higher levels of volume and gain. So, I will be trying the usual things to correct that. Hopefully I will get that resolved, as I really want to keep this PU in this guitar. Thanks for the reply!

Do you still like these pickups after you had them for a while?
@JulianDaniels7 жыл бұрын
They are good. But not very good imo. I find the neck pickup a bit too quiet and maybe a bit strat-like. i would like to test some more pickups, especially those Bare Knuckles. But buying pickups after buying pickups can be very expensive :)
@innerpull7 жыл бұрын
i thought the twisted tele neck pickup was supposed to be strat-like. so how would you compare these to the twisted tele pickups? im trying to decide between them but i cant find any back to back comparison demos, so im just collectively hearing as many as i can from either. im wanting big twang and rich depth.
@JulianDaniels6 жыл бұрын
I never tried out the twisted neck. But the Nocasters have a lot of twang.
@davidsiegeld5763 жыл бұрын
@@JulianDaniels IMHO -- I thought a little more than 5 minutes in, the leads on the neck pickup sounded great cutting right through the mix. Just saying.

I have a American Professional Tele (with V-Mods) and I am not entirely happy with them. The overall tone is good but the use of Alnico 2 magnets under the E-B-G strings makes them sound a bit dull and mushy. I wish they would have just used Alnico 5 in all the magnets. Love the guitar though.
@stefan30334 жыл бұрын
@@Topsy_Krett Same situation here. Love the Am Pro in general but I have switched to twisted tele in the neck and nocaster 51 in the bridge. Now I absolutely love it :)

No they are not. They are 51 Nocaster like it says in the title of the video. N4 are Noiseless fourth generation. Noiseless pick ups are dead sounding.

Nice demo. Have you tried the Fender pure vintage 64 pickups? If so, any thoughts in general or on how they compare to nocaster?
@JulianDaniels6 жыл бұрын
I never tried them. But I think they rather sound better with rosewood fretboards.
@connorruggles8740 Жыл бұрын
They have just a bit more midrange, and if you think of 80-90s country twang vs 60s country twang, that’s more how those will sound. These will do the 60s twang really well
