Fire blankets are specifically designed for cooking oil and fat fires (type K), however they can also be used for normal combustibles (type A), as demonstrated in the video. When the blankets are used, you should leave it on for at least 30 minutes, get out, stay out, and call 911. DO NOT USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER FOR TYPE K FIRES, unless you have a wet chemical extinguisher. Dry powder fire extinguishers, the most common and versatile, cannot be used on type K fires to safely extinguish them.

These fire blankets are not UL certified (or any other organization). They require you to get "up close and personal" with the fire to use them. Fire extinguishers are both UL certified and can be used to extinguish a fire from a safe distance. Do your research first before placing an order.

Any bigger at all and it probably wouldn’t work. Not to mention someone did a similar demonstration on youtube, and after even 10 minutes they lifted the blanket and the fire was still there

I ordered 3 fire blankets a few weeks before Christmas (2023) & never got them. I emailed them & they said they were out of them. I asked for a refund & haven't heard from them & never got a refund. They do not respond to emails now. What a rip off!!

The next time you're cooking straw and wood shavings you'll know what to do!

I don't think it would work in a forest fire.

Of course it would, you just need a bigger blanket.
