In researching keiki paste for use on orchids, I read you should cut a notch into the node where you plan to apply the keiki paste. Which may be why you had such success with the pink princess. You may need an open wound so that the hormones in the paste, will be absorbed by the plant. Just a thought...
@GoodGrowing2 жыл бұрын
yeah maybe that is the case... I'm just so worried about notching into my plant. I've never done it before
@clapsa Жыл бұрын
I believe it may depend on the types of plants? On my nepenthes I have had very high hit rate with no notches just leaving it on the nodes
@devilmecare Жыл бұрын
I put it on where the leaves fell off June 18th. I was pretty sure I got carried away. Today I looked at my Fiddle Leaf Fig Bambino and there is growth everywhere I put the paste. I was sure it was going to die.
@daveshouse81057 ай бұрын
the notching is if you plant to prop it, the notching blocks a hormone and reinforces the growth on the grow point, i learned that from "plantguyindonesia"
@gweneeloveslife6 ай бұрын
Gently score the node! It'll help the paste penetrate. Some plants don't need scoring, some do. Gentle trauma to the tissue will help
@patrickdokken24812 жыл бұрын
I notched my albo then added the paste and got a growth point added a think layer to said point and it trippled overnight,

Patience is key I'd say! Maybe up the humidity to help with root growth and make sure the sphagnum stays moist but other than that, it's a waiting game! Good luck!

I'd love to see an experiment to see how/if it helps root growth at all, for things like propogation. Or like a top of a plant to make it easier to propogate.
@GoodGrowing3 жыл бұрын
So I've read that this is not for root growth. For that you'd need rooting hormone instead. This hormone is for stem/leaf growth

Hey, I heard your only supposed to use it on one node per plant. If you use more, it might overwhelm the plant cause it’s still a hormone at the end of the day
