Does Legend Bowl have worse pacing than Madden?

Legend Bowl includes lengthy huddle animations that closely model the pace of play of real football, but which leads to excessive idle downtime for the user. This drags out the length of games, especially with longer quarter lengths. It also leads to the question of whether Legend Bowl actually has even worse game pacing than Madden?

Are you running this on a potato? I've never seen this game run so slow. My games last 40-45 minutes with 8-10 minute quarters.

Same here. I just assumed that's because it's over a year later and the game was improved. I find the gameplay itself is faster and that is a problem I do agree with the video that I like a slow speed setting for people like me who are of a certain age, never were great video game players and have lost a step in reflexes. Last game which had a super slow speed was NFL Fever.

Dude. Before you come online and blast someone else's product. Make sure you have decent PC that can play the game properly. It is obvious and plain to see that your PC is running the game super slow.

What I’m seeing from this video is that you’re going to hate Legend Bowl when you actually get it running at the correct speed. Turn replays off and restart the game.

Yep, yep. I don't think it's too fast for me, but I would like to slow the gameplay down a bit. I play on accelerated clock with huddles turn off and the transition between plays is pretty smooth. I also don't think it's fair to compare this game to Madden or Axis, this is a pretty unique thing in itself, the only game that's very similar to this one is Pro Strategy.

@@tomservo75 except that Pro Strategy isn’t played by the player. The plays are called, but there’s no option to actually control players in Pro Football Strategy.

I generally play 7-8 minute quarters with Accel Clock and Skip Huddle. I run the ball out of bounds, use timeouts and watch replays, but it's never gone over an hour barring overtime. How are your games running so long with Accel Clock and Skip Huddle turned on? I would imagine that 15 minute quarters won't take more than one and a half hours. Also, I would assume that you'll have that time available when sitting down to a 15 minute quarter game. Edit Nevermind, it's your PC. It's running really slowly.

The gameplay speed is probably slow because of your pc. It's actually fast on a pc that can handle it.

As one Bears fan to another...loved the video. I think Legend Bowl is a fun game, regardless of how realistic they might be in game play.

Legend Bowl, by the developer's own admission, is not meant to be a competitor to Madden. I think it's unfair to compare this to Madden and Axis. Those are intended as 3D play, this one isn't. A more appropriate comparison would be to something like Pro Strategy. For my own part, I like the text-based sims like Front Office and Draft Day Sports. Those have barely if any graphic content at all, but they're still fun to play for people like me who are more interested in the intracacies of roster building and GM work, as opposed to seeing how many defenders I can out-juke, or perfect X & O representation.

I remember NFL Fever was good in that it had a super-slow setting which made the game more fun for people like me with very bad reflexes (pushing 50 hasn't helped matters any)

for starters, its not the games fault you got real life stuff to do. i wonder why you can customize how long the quarter length is? its almost like they allow customization of quarter length for those who may not have the time for‼️‼️🤯🤯 2. 5:48 ITS ONCE AGAIN NOT THE GAMES FAULT YOU HAVE STUFF TO DO. In my franchise mode, i run 6 minute quarters with accel clock on and i skip the huddles. games usually take around 35-40 minutes. at that rate, a 15 minute quarter game should take around 2 hours. 3. an extension of 2 but play on lower graphics settings. i can assure you you don’t need to see all 22 players stamina bars. to me, its clear that the game length is longer than it should be, because of your graphics. that “slow” game speed you perfer (btw good for you that the likely unintended worse game performance had some positive effects) also contributes to the extended game length edits - ima add to those as i think of them. 6:10 the only person making you sit through it is yourself. you mentioned yourself you can turn on “skip huddle” in the settings, or you can manually bit a or x or whatever every pla

Gaming masters dont need time. We all have families and jobs. Dont play the game if you cant take huddle time. Cry more. I dont trading in morning and to a late with wife and kid and fishing. Huddles dont bother me lol. Learn how to manage your time better
