The worst part is there’s so much canon that hasn’t been directly related in the movies that it’s a total cop out. Off the top of my head there’s Ilum the lightsaber crystal planet. Han’s blaster pistol is never directly called a DL 44. The Home one is never addressed by name. Admiral Ackbars species of Mon Calamari is never mentioned on screen. There’s a million more I could come up with.

If Lego were to make a Battle Droid Battle Pack, what would you want to see in it? For me, it would have 4 regular Battle Droids, 2 Super Battle Droids, and the main build being a Vulture Droid. I calculated the piece count for my idea, it's 136 pieces (including the battle droids) and includes 5-6 stickers.

Referring to 18:07 the ship has actually been called *Slave 1* before. In Star Wars the Clone Wars Season 2 episode 22 “Lethal Trackdown” Aurra Sing tells Bossk to, “Move Slave 1 to the outskirts” (she explicitly name drops it). The time stamp on Disney + is 14:51 if you’re interested.

Not really a question, but I think the best way LEGO could introduce a purge trooper would be in a “fallen order” battle pack of sorts with a purge trooper, a scout, and two stormtroopers. This would fit with the formula of the battle packs they seem to be using with one leader of some kind, and they wouldn’t have to make it an actual fallen order set, similarly to BD-1 where there isn’t a fallen order logo.

Ask MandR: I've recently gotten back into Lego Star Wars again and I'm actively looking to buy my first Star Wars UCS sets (I already have the 1989 Batmobile and the Tumbler but it's not Star Wars), so my question is if I should go with something like the UCS Luke's Landspeeder, A-Wing or Republic Gunship that I can currently find in stores but maybe like a little less (although I still think those sets are still good, despite the lackluster selection of minifigures in the Gunship), or if I should wait for other UCS sets that I like more, like the Slave 1 or the Star Destroyer, to come out on sale on for example. Ebay or Bricklink for a reasonable price. Also worth adding that I live in Sweden and that the market for UCS sets here are most likely substancially lower than in the US.

Edit: TLDR: Intentional flaws because a perfect set or minifigure would diminish the popularity of future versions of that set or sets with the same clone trooper for the third year in a row -------------------- It’s simple, Lego is aware that they can now make virtually perfect sets and minifigures. For example, the new AT-TE doesn’t have the awkward colors, angles and gaps between panels seen in 2002 and somewhat 2008. In 2013, they made a completely flush AT-TE with consistent colored pieces but left the interior mostly blank with only one clone trooper. The new AT-TE has a full interior with a great selection of clones, but they made a weird change to the helmets and didn’t include a crab droid. They are just leaving room for improvement so that there is still demand for the next version of the set.

Did you ever think that they should bring back the old boxart for UCS sets, and 18+ in general? I am personally really starting to miss boxes that were pieces of art themselves, such as UCS Slave I boxart, UCS Sandcrawler... I think they should return to the type of boxart they had with UCS Falcon, Y-wing, Star Destroyer and D2C Tantive IV, because it was a nice mix of old and most recent. I am starting to get really tired of so many repetitive and unimaginative boxes, I honestly think they used the fact that sets are aimed towards adults to cheap out and save on designing normal boxart, but what do you think?

But also I wanted to know if it would be better to get the ucs star destroyer or get a few 501st battle packs and aat’s to build on the army building aspect along with a few command stations before they retire and spike in price, but I’m not sure about the aat, seems pretty unlikely it’ll rise in price but if I save for the destroyer I won’t be able to get the bad batch shuttle, mandolorian star fighter, imperial light cruiser along with the battle packs and mini figure pack, I want the destroyer for myself but I could get a lot more that I want too, I just want to know what would be the better decision

What sets other than the obvious current at-st, a few snow trooper, and rebel Hoth trooper battle packs would you recommend getting? Retired or not. Like a priority list would be awesome 😁

I would argue that the "name change" (on the box, nowhere else) absolutely came about for marketing reasons. The most important thing to Disney (and every other company) is improving their profits. They are betting that in the long run current fans of the ship will eventually see past the change and the new name will be more marketable to fringe fans. Let me see if I can make a comparison that makes sense. In the early 90s when the Patriots dramatically changed their logo many fans were outraged. Some swore off the team, some professed their love for the team, but promised to never buy any merchandise with the new logo (including a good friend of mine who I laughed at until the same thing happened to the beloved D logo on my Broncos helmets a few years later), but the outrage was very real. Ultimately both changes were what was best to expand each teams appeal. Both my friend and I eventually had to admit that this superficial change didn't actually change what we loved about our teams, and in the long run both new logos sold much more merchandise. Same thing is happening right now with the Commanders. With corporations, it's always about the bottom line. Just my 2 cents.

AskMandr: You mentioned in a previous video regarding Rebels sets that Lego purchased BrickLink. Do you think that this has anything to do with their hesitancy to meet customer interests in remakes of clone wars sets because of the money they make in after market for sets like those in the clone war set glory days? Will it stop them from making other anniversary sets for other things like Solo, Rogue One, Rebels, etc.? Feels like the Attack of the Clones anniversary was extremely underwhelming and that may be a cause. I may be wrong but Bricklink gets a cut of each sale correct?
