Does My Big Trailer Fit In The Quarry? - Stone Donation to The Stone Trust

This was my first foray into the quarry with my 21 foot gooseneck trailer. The road is steep, rough and narrow, and there is not much space to turn around. My objective is to get loaded up with 11,000 pounds of granite to donate to a project facilitated by The Stone Trust.
Go check out The Stone Trust at:

Sign up for a workshop if you are interested, take it from me, it is worthwhile!

How awesome that you brought your boy with you. I drove huge John Deere tractors when I was about that age. When I tell people now they're baffled and react in a negative way, but it was so common then for kids to operate heavy farm machinery. Under supervision of course and not out on the open road. (I'm not against safety rules at all, but driving a tractor or a cat along with your dad on your own terrain should be fine) Good for you! (edit: I live in western Europe if that makes a difference) I didn't know such a thing as The Stone Trust existed. Good to see you went and looked for a useful destination for those stones Edit because I commented before the end of the video: Oh no! Now what do you do? How do you get it unstuck?

Hello Alfred; I am very interested in watching you on KZbin. About 100 years ago my Grandfather had a quarry just over the Canadian border, in Philipsburg Quebec /Highgate. The quarry is still up and running but it is no longer in the family. He quarried marble but I am sure he had many of the same and experiences you are having. Thanks for all the great times you share with us. J

Great video! Except the falling off the road part. Love the drum beat at the start, the drive up, the camera on the back showing the scenery and the trail, seeing the CAT in front, the music, the thought balloons on your kid … just everything. Sooo good! Oh, and watching you work the CAT. It’s like a toy; really cool, hope we see more. The vid ended kinda abruptly, but I understand. Hope getting your truck back on the road wasn’t too hard. You’ll have to tell us how it went.

Hello there, Alfred. Brand new subscriber here. I am loving your new(ish) channel. I know nothing - zip - about granite or stone masonry, but am finding your vids very informative and interesting! I can't imagine what it must have been like for you when you first set eyes on your new quarry property. As a stone mason, it must have been like looking at a gold mine for most people. For a stone mason, it must have been magic! Suggestion for future video (if I may so presume!): How you first heard about this property, what it was like when you first visited, and. . . all of that kind of thing, and more on the stones, of course. Do keep up the good work. I can't imagine how tiring it must be doing the stone mason thing and trying to start a KZbin channel at the same time - but I think you might have a winner here!! Congratulations!

Oh no! What a cliffhanger- no pun intended. I was afraid of the trailer veering off the road and its weight pulling the truck down, as you were making your way up. That sped up footage of clearing the area with the excavater remindet me of the old Sinbad movies. Must be the way everything moves kind of haltingly. Hope you got the truck off the road situation solved without too much trouble.
