Like should we speak life over our situation?

Hey! Thanks for watching! It depends on what you mean by speaking life. I would suggest to you that speaking life is speaking truth as we see in the Bible. For instance, let's say you are going through marital issues. The unhealthy manner of speaking life is to say, "My marriage is perfect!" Even though it is not. Or, the impractical route of speaking life is to say, "My marriage will heal and last till death do us part." And there are plenty of people who say things like this and the opposite happens anyway. The right biblically accurate way of speaking life is to say, "My marriage is suffering, but I know 2 Corinthians chapter 1 teaches that suffering teaches me to depend more on God instead of circumstances. And I know that Philippians 3 teaches that I fellowship with Christ in my suffering. I know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. Even if I don't get the outcome I want, I know "the good" is always to gain a more intimate knowledge of Christ. These biblically accurate attitudes towards life results in more responsible decision making and helps us learn maturity in actually dealing with our struggles instead of smoke screening or trying to hide from what is actually going on. This is what I believe the Bible teaches.

Great video!!! Is the name it and claim it the same as speaking life over ourselves and our situation?

Thank you so much!! The "name it and claim it" thing is absolutely a form of "speak life over yourself" when taught incorrectly. Also, please know that I am not saying that miracles don't happen. I was diagnosed with down syndrome in my mother's womb and while at church the pastor shouted to the congregation, "Speak to your unborn child!" My Mom spoke and prayed over me and here I am! But this is certainly not always the case. I think a good way to discern these situations is for us believers to always pray and work to make knowing and pleasing Christ first on our agenda, NOT to obtain some miracle or blessing. Or to look at miracles as a sign that we are more spiritual or favored by God. My mother prayed for me with the mindset, "If my baby is down syndrome, I'm still gonna love him. So, it's okay either way." We all prayed for my mother to be healed of cancer and it didn't happen. But me and Mom praised God even as we grieved her last days because we knew the death for a Christian is bittersweet news. Like Jesus said, "Healing your mother and giving her more days on Earth would great. But, as much as it's going to hurt, I have a better idea. I'm going to heal your mother by bringing you home. And I'm going to use your pain to reveal more of who I am to you as the God, Friend, Comforter and Provider in your suffering."
