This is precisely why Princess Anne and Mark Philips made the decision not to give their children titles, to allow them the privacy this gentleman ignores. Peter Phillips private life is his business not ours. I am pretty sure that Princess, Anne would be a mother who allowed her children to learn by their mistakes, would be their for guidence and advice if asked but when your son is 46, Princess Anne would trust him to know what he was doing.

Many things changed with the passing of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth; it may be time to reconsider your choice of supposed experts. It's likely unwise to apply old views and past royal standards to modern generations and their relationships. Current press and social media intrusions are more likely to impact couples' choices than meeting royal relatives once did. Younger royals may bring their steady dates to events where they might well be introduced to other royals, but nowadays, it's less likely to mean marriage is in the offing. This is especially true for folks who've reached middle age and already have families.

I like & respect Michael Cole as a royal expert or commentator. So I was surprised to hear him make a basic mistake about Peter Phillips’s status. As anyone familiar with the RF knows (see Lady C’s videos too on this) as the son of princess, PP isn’t royal or technically a member of the RF. So no royal title was ever available to him at birth or later. Like David Armstrong-Jones (son of P Margaret) the child of female members of the monarch can’t inherit HRH or royal status to their mother. This is clear in the 1917 Letters Patient. Yes, the late Queen could have changed this when Peter was born but she didn’t. Perhaps PA was consulted at the time too? Who knows? The point MC should (& perhaps meant) was that PP & his sister didn’t have aristocratic titles due to the decision of their parents? This is true, as Mark Philips refused the offer of an Earldom when he married PA. Unlike Tony A-J who accepted one on his marriage (more than a decade earlier) to PM. That’s why David A-J is now the Earl of Snowdon but PP remains just that. It’s important that royal experts don’t mix up royal with aristocratic titles both come from the monarch but under very different routes. Increasingly important given the current ongoing debate about H&M.

Canada love's the Royals. Well all but one she's not a real Royal tho dare i mentiona name . I lived in a city in Ontario called Guelph. In 1959 The Queen and Prince Philip did a Royal 45 day tour in Canada and visited every province. After she went through Guelph they called it the Royal City.
