Thank you for making this video. It's a difficult topic to discuss, but very important. As an Irish person currently living abroad long-term, it's been worrying to see the recent increase in far-right noise in my country of birth, much of which is online. I want to believe in my heart that the modern Irish nation is a welcoming and inclusive one, and these racists and troublemakers are a tiny tiny minority. They never get elected to office, for example, which makes me think their voice is amplified online. It's true also that a lot of anti-EU and anti-immigrant voices are actually not Irish themselves. But many are. I want to return to my homeland soon and I'm willing to fight any racism I encounter when I do. Stay away your traitor. Do u have any idea of the level of migration to this country. Hardly any country in Europe has had the levels of migration that we are getting. Our useless politicians refuse to learn from the mistakes of the likes of Sweden , France , uk etc. you would do well to remember that the US brought in restrictions on migration in the 1920s when the foreign born population reached 15%. It's 20% here, yet our politicians want more and more..

In the Middle East filippino nurses are paid lower wages than Europeans, in Ireland Filipino nurses get paid exactly the same as everyone else and have fully equality in law from day one. just ignore the small number of loud racists. As a Dublin born Irishman who has a keen interest on current social affairs and news here, it was very interesting to hear your take take on that subject. I find the lived experience always paints a different picture to what the NGO's and Media would have one believe. Fear and hate pay the wages for those people sadly. We Irish are very welcoming, especially to good souls like yourself who come here and contribute. I recently spent 16 days in Hospital and meet some seriously wonderful Filipinos whilst there.

Yeah theres no racism in sri lanka, so why were the tamils looking for independence? The reality is that out treacherous politicians have flooded our country eith foreigners to the extent that nearly a quarter of the population have zero irish heritage, its seems out politicians wont stop until we're a minority in our own country . They are hooked on corporation tax receopts.

I find Ireland to be incredibly welcoming, they have a big migration culture themselves, with lots of them having family abroad or have worked overseas themselves. In that sense, we have a relatability in being overseas workers. In my experience, I have not encountered any outward racism or discrimination, as it is very much frowned upon, and they have a low tolerance for it, especially in the workplace. But of course there are some bad eggs here and there, but I think those stem more from ignorance and unconscious bias than racism...

Ireland and the Irish are not racist, so get a grip. We are just sick and tired of the thousands of freeloading foreigners pouring into the country and living off the irish taxpayers. If people want to work hard and pay their taxes we have no issue with them. But what do you expect ? To be considered as a local? To be a part of a community that has evolved over many, many years ? That's just not possible after a few years, you don't share our history, our heritage our struggles, we will be polite and considerate and never judge you for where you come from, you are judged on the type of person you are

So why do you think the irish will be racist ? Is it because they ate objecting to thousands of economic migrants, totally unvetted, being placed in their communities, because they object to their tax contributions being used to look after these unvetted economic migrants. Object to the fact that these people are claiming to be refugees when they are clearly not ! I think you will find that the Irish people will welcome anybody who enters the country legally, has identification documents, and has a job so can pay taxes etc. Being willing to integrate and respect the Irish culture and way of life is also Important. We have had people coming into our country, availing of all the help, support etc, contributing nothing, committing offences, behaving dreadfully and calling us racist, saying we need to change!!!! We don't want these people, we seriously object to these people, that's not racism its reasonable under the circumstances !!

Racism exists everywhere and no one’s a saint either. Ireland, well, in Cork to be specific there’s only few cases of racial discrimination as far as i know of. Everyone is treated fairly and with utter respect. I’m talking in regards to my workplace, neighbourhood and day today experience. Just do your own thing and no one will touch you. I’ve been here for over 2 decades now, grateful to God and to this country i call my second home. Kindest regards to everyone❤

Happy but also sad story: here in Ireland, you’ll get the same treatment as how an irish would be treated in general. That means, your salary, the taxes you are paying, house rent fees, bills and utilities are fairly as same as how an irish would spend to survive in their own country. Many refugees had been welcomed here with so much inclusivity and good treatment, even further than how they are being treated in other countries. Most of them get to stay in a hotel, comfortable and able to eat 3 times a day without having to work or operate a business for free (not applicable to all refugees). Now thats a good thing, but imagine the rate percentage of homeless Irish nationals that you would encounter in big cities such as Dublin and Cork, spending winter nights on the streets. It seemed very unfair knowing that others are being treated so well, and are being supported in order to survive their daily lives whilst their own people are suffering. The cost of living in Ireland is not a joke, it is considered as one the most expensive cost of living in the world, and in order to keep yourself warm on winter days, feed yourself and keep up with the tides, you have to be able to meet ends. And by that you need to be hustling and bustling, and if I were a born Irish, I would be sad to know that at the end of it all, I don’t get to survive with free apartment and food and that I have to pay taxes and all other bills and utilities. I think Irish are really happy to welcome all (not just refugees) people from different races, it’s just a matter of probably others that needs to be more giving back to the local community in any shape or form; for example, If I am one refugee receiving benefits from the irish government, maybe I’ll spend time to donate my time in charity shops, or be employed in a small shop that are not able to suffice the extensive high cost of running a business for a minimal fee. Its a way of giving back, and probably in that manner, many irish would be a lot happier to welcome any person in particular, might you be a refugee or not. I wouldn’t also blame some of the refugees for not involving themselves so much in the community as most of them are not able to speak the language fluently. But again, as someone who is not of an Irish DNA, maybe we should have a lil bit of sensitivity to extend ourselves and be involved in giving back to the community. Maybe, if you are one of those lucky refugees, you can probably host a homeless Irish if you encounter one, or maybe share a little bit of what you have, in a form of food or monetary value.

I would be very honest, I had been discriminated by one person (Irish) at my workplace. Here’s the tea: as winter is considered dull for businesses in small town and counties here in Ireland, business owners tends to reduce the working hours of some employees as there is no demand, even some were not given any hours for the entire two months. I wasn’t subjected for a reduced hours as I was bonded with a contract from the company, and the ones affected were my Irish colleagues. Of course, one wasn’t happy to have been reduced with working hours as that means she’ll be paid way less than the usual or not being paid at all for two months. And this is where her mind got triggered. I became a talk of the town for “taking her/their hours” and would always have a sharp look from her, and was never treated well. Not to mention Irish (specially ladies) are very well known for spending so much of their time gossiping. Naging topic ako ng tsismis, dahil ayon sa kanya, kasalanan ko ang pagkabawas ng oras niya. Sad right? But I dont blame them. We are all in need of a fair share of pizza slice at the end of the day. I even overheard she said to other mate, that I shouldn’t get a good treatment as I am not an Irish.

I worked with brilliant Filipino nurses and loved working with them I come from Scotland and worked as a nurse for 19 years and married to an Irish women.I missed Scotland as I didn't feel included and I always felt that I wasn't Irish and the point was made. For all the great immigrants that have come to the country that have contributed to the state I feel over the last year due to unvetted mass immigration Ireland has become more racist and I see more hatred and distrust of immigrants coming into the country and I think that anyone who doesn't appear to be Irish are facing the consequences of poor immigration policies by the government. I have enjoyed working with nurses from all over the world and I don't care where they come from but over the last 20 years we have changed from a country of emigration to immigration and due to children integrating from different countries and cultures the children of Ireland will have a greater perspective and understanding of immigration being a positive outcome and where we can live in harmony and tolerance

I've received racism in Thailand, for being a white European married to a Thai national. There are racists all over the world, no different in Ireland 🇮🇪 I read the other day that Ireland has a population of around 5 million & had an influx of a million migrants over the past few years, that's 20% of the population, I'm sure any country in the world would be a little bit concerned with that amount of immigration. All I will say is, when Ireland was a poor nation, you didn't see 1 million migrants trying to live there, why now?

Those who attract racial discrimination or racist people are always thinking or talking about racism because they think they sound smart when they are reciting their highly rehearsed racism monologues. As someone who was born and spent my early years in Ireland and have lived most of my life in America, I would say that Irish people are more welcoming to emigrants that other European countries. BUT ,in recent years immigration has turned into an invasion and some of these immigrants are not the kind of people you want in your country..This is true in North America and in the whole of Europe also.A great example is Sweden where Stockholm is now ,and I quote "the rape capital of Europe." I think that a period of zero immigration to America and all of Europe is now called for . Otherwise we will be looking at some serious social chaos on both sides of the Atlantic. I say this as someone who has lived in Ireland , England ,Canada and America and has traveled widely in Western Europe. Irish people are not bigots ,our history of oppression has made us sympathize with the downtrodden and those we perceive to have been wronged. Our sympathy for the Palestinians is a good example.The Americans ,the British and Germans back Israel to the hilt but the Irish ( and Glasgow Celtic supporters!!) go against this prevailing view and are vocal in the European Parliament in Brussels and in Dail Eireann in their support for the people of Gaza who are suffering in a way that no Europeans have suffered since World War II. In conclusion,mass immigration has to be curtailed and that will lead to a more harmonious relationship between native people and immigrants and natural integration will follow and the sons of Phillipino nurses will play football for Kerry and Cork and rugby for Ireland !!

This exists everywhere for people of colour living in white dominant countries sadly and th3 darker your skin , the more you will experience this. Im happy that this video was made.
