You are correct Rabia Sun mere dil is more like Indian soaps. We love Pakistani drams for their simplicity and more close to reallity.

@@ritusrivastava7995 Indian soaps are of a very wide range. There are some that are for housewives and they show all kind of ridiculous twists. I don’t watch them so I can’t say if there was ever one where a girl is insisting on selling herself for no particular reason. It is better to take ahsaan than to do this.

It was such a bad offer given by Sadaf even when Bilal Abdullah was saying that he can give her money but she was just insisting on doing anything for money instead of taking favour .I mean it's far better to take someone's favour rather than commiting such a grave sin.

It does NOT make sense at all. Why is she keeping her brother's illness a secret? Why not just say that she needs the money for his treatment? What is the point of complicating things and creating this whole mystery? Both the guys deserve to know why is she asking for all this money.

Thanks Rabia, i was seriously appalled by the scene, i'm sorry but i hate KRQ's thinking about women and he keeps writing dramas with weird dialogue about the philosophy of how women think, dialogues like agar larki says this it means that...who made him an expert? And most of his dramas will show women going crazy over money. Why would an honoroble woman go and say i don't want a loan i will do anything u want for the money??? so weird. Also why is Maya acting soo dramatic every time she sees him or when he came towards her in that office scene, like i dont know what is going to happen (like the old time heroines) and also she wants to do "anything" also, this is not normal. And the guy Ammar is soooo annoying like he keeps just stalking her saying he loves her, i mean she has clearly said i don't, he's like that "machhar" still going around and you wana just slap him hard seriously.

Frankly speaking, I can’t stand Sunn Mere Dil. It’s a huge cringe fest. Like you said, there’s a lot of inspiration taken from Indian soaps, hence the over dramatic acting. The story is very very poor, which is why the dialogues sound pointless and shallow. I don’t know whether it’s Geo, the director or KRQ’s writing, but everything is just so OTT and the story is so blah. Bilal Abdullah is a flat character and Sadaf and her friends are very annoying. I’d much rather watch Zard Patton ka Bann or KMKT or Jafa or Duniyapur. This drama is pointless and shallow and very stupid.

Absolutely agree with you, I had the same thoughts as you.. very weird and negative impression given in yesterday’s episode. I’m sure the writer will unfold the reason of her reaction. It could also be that Sadaf is very stressed at the loss of her father and then finding about her brothers cancer so it could be done due to extreme stress but still selling yourself to a man doesn’t make any sense!

I have to respectfully disagree with your take on Wahaj's performance in that scene with Maya. I didn’t find it exaggerated or over the top at all. While Sadaf's dialogue was a bit uncomfortable to watch, I actually watched that scene twice just to see how Bilal reacted. I think Wahaj performed that scene brilliantly, conveying so much through his eyes, facial expressions, body language, and movements. You could really see how shocked and surprised he was by Sadaf's opionion of him and how much her words affected him.

The pace of drama is painfully slow after every dialogue there is a slow mo to show expressions of actors that is really irritating and annoying even at 1.5x speed it's slow.

I guess the reason why BA walks back in that way to his seat was that he got furious at that point and he was going through different emotions at that moment. He isn’t a guy to take benefit because of someone’s helplessness or majboori. But because of his character of alcoholism and having contacts with girls Sadaf thinks about him like that.

I agree!What makes her think time with her is worth 8 crores? I would’ve understood if they had showed that Bilal was interested to marry her and she wasn’t … and now she agrees to, but in exchange for money. This though, makes no sense to me. It’s a sensitive topic and any comment may appear insensitive - but it’s also a fact.

It was very silly. She couldn’t take a loan but she could “do anything” for the money. Seriously? Where’s the izzat etc she’s worried about. And the pauses and gaps. We could have completed 5 episodes in 2 there were so many pauses between dialogues.

The strangest bit was that Bilal Abdullah never asked for her ‘ izzat’ or whatever but she kept throwing herself at him. Why did she not ask for the money as a help( which he had offered her brother) or a loan. Why is she so sure he’ll be dying to have relations with her even if it costs eight crore. I think KRQ is losing it! She could’ve agreed to a ‘relationship’ if Bilal had insisted upon it as a return for his help.

Rabia mam thank you for being open minded.. your pointing out both positives and negatives! I have seen people just slamming the episode unreasonably.. 1. Mam its entertainment! Not schooling.. production is trying something new, if some elements they are taking from Indian drama industry, why not?! Dont you feel the difference? Its visually refreshing!. 2. I have witnessed women who go beyond lines to earn money.. why do you take it as a message?! Its damn reality in this society. If you have not come across such person doesn't mean such individuals doesn't exist in society!. 3. Her father has died+ brother is at 3rd stage cancer+ doctor has suggested a hefty amount for treatment+ she is just a university passed out student( without any savings)+ loan is a long procedure (with less amount)+ you know there is a guy who is rich and has bad reputation, who has already made advance towards her by sending appointment letter without her initiative. ____ sadaf chose a different path but she is not wrong! 4. You didn't observe Hamsha's character?! She tells Ammar that she is concerned for sadaf and she will talk to her about this next day ASAP.. 5. In episode number 6/7 they show gaurds in the car!.

Sadaf questioning BA shows that she thinks his father would have requested for money but he didn’t have him as she knows he was also planning to sell home. So she would have thought BA wouldn’t be such generous to give that money such like that. And in reality no bank or firm would give such big loan without big guarantees. We have many people in reality who don’t have enough money and hence will not be able to get treatment. And even funds it’s infeasible to raise such huge amount. People will feel sorry but normal people will not just give away their entire balance for anyone even relatives won’t. That’s fact. So maybe she would have thought there is no way to arrange money and also there is not enough time. And even also without much confidence of whether he would give such huge amount or not she just asked what if he likes her and gives. But yeah right thing is that she would have tried as much as possible in right way, by requesting or even pleading but not this disgusting thing. And at last just leave it on destiny. But not always humans take right actions, they sometimes deviate, especially to save their loved ones. Even BA was questioning initially but she didn’t wanted to tell reason at last he said he don’t want to know reason since he may be ashamed after knowing it as since he didn’t helped Sadaf father died. And he thinks and believes there is some reason and also mostly thinks it would get solved as he has given money, so he isn’t questioning now.

You yourself gave a confused statement. You can feel the sadness of Billal Abdullah. But you took the blame for his performance. You said you couldn't feel Maya's sadness but appreciated Maya's performance. The sadness of Wahaj Ali's character has touched people. His character has created interest among people to know what happens next. His walk was perfect. He is not Murtasim, he is Bilal Abdullah.

Why everyone taking just one episode in account... Why you ignoring or not focusing the writer already set previous 2-3 episode of trauma that was generating for this situation... What are talking about sadaf's deen,eman, culture, respect, principle and all other things is okay for normal situation.. I think you never experience what haappen when the youngest of the family got diagnosed with deadly Cancer....you have no idea... But see the most senior, syrong personality and experienced father also couldn’t process the way out of this sudden trauma...some people may lost a family member in sudden accident but revealing cancer is some other level trauma...... Yes, its true that drama is going too dramatic is some extent.....the write should draw the line between drama and movie

It was totally uncalled for, she didn’t have to do what she did, knowing that Bilal Abdullah would give money only for her father’s years of service. Very cheap touch, as he had said it already that he is giving money for her father, but still in the end she said again “my offer still stands “, preposterous.

I think I can understand sadaf. My father was also suffering from terminal illness before he passed away. Arranging money for treatment was difficult. If I had to sell myself to pay for his treatment, I probably would have. Anyone who is judging her has no idea of the helplessness you feel when you are watching your loved one die in front of your eyes.

First, I want to clarify that Sadaf's request was morally wrong, and I was genuinely surprised when I heard her say that. The intention behind that scene was clearly to sensationalize it, or should I say over-sensationalize it, similar to what we've seen in Indian soaps, a trend that GEO has been following for a while now, if you haven't noticed it. That said, I thought the buildup to that scene was nicely done. Her father died because they couldn't afford her brother's treatment, and then the doctor warned her that her brother didn’t have much time left. The amount needed was so large that she couldn’t secure a loan, even if she sold her house. Frustrated with her life and seeking revenge against death for her father's passing, she felt quite desperate when she went to Bilal. However, in my opinion, if she had just said she needed the money for her brother's treatment and promised to work for him for life, it would still have been a grand gesture with a strong impact. Just picture Bilal signing the cheque for her in an instant during their first meeting without a second thought. But instead, the makers chose to sensationalize that scene and went overboard with the dramatics, particularly with her repetitive dialogue. As she kept repeating that she’d do anything, I couldn’t help but laugh at it. I mean, come on-just take the cheque, thank him, and leave the office!! I really don’t understand what the writer intended for her character. She can’t accept money as charity because it would hurt her pride, yet she’s willing to sell herself for money. It just doesn’t make sense!

Maybe it's being spoiled by KMKT setting the standards but SMD writing is pure drudgery. It's crystal clear that Maya and more so Wahaj are side pieces with the focus being the producer launching his kid's acting career.

@engineering-madness-dev 1- no one mentioned kmkt ,I did not even watch it ,(I heard so much appreciation about it so I was waiting for it to finish so I can watch it all for once )... so chill out 🙄 2- the over acting can happen with the best actors in every industry ,the reasons are mostly : bad direction or some pressure by the fans ( generally international fans ) and before you jump to conclusions : I'm an international fan myself ( not Pakistani nor indian and I'm not here to create misunderstandings or stereotypes but you can see it yourself by checking SM comments yourself ) I love Maya since her diyar e dil era and I'm big fan of wahaj waaayyyy before the Tere bin ( sensation ) ,but here ;there are many scenes where they were over the top ,it' s - not entirely their fault - but when there is an issue in a project it' s our right as an audience to point it out because Pakistani drama has so much talents and potential that deserve more recognition and success...

I hope you read my comment Rabia ❤️ you are absolutely right. The grandeur is associated with production and direction quality. That too is imp. But the major concern should be a well knitted plot and well rounded characters, whether lead or supporting. There are many flaws in the script/writing as well. The sheer objectivity of women is unbearable seriously. In the upcoming promo Bilal says "ye 8 crore toh mai sirf uski nazrein chrany per de skta tha". This was quite off for me. How can a woman's modesty be gauged in terms of material wealth.The characterization is too weak. Even if Bilal is rich such dialogues on television. That's not quite right. Besides, Sadaf at one point in ep 8 says "woh toh marna bhe nahi chahty thay na. Lekin Mar gaye na". Whether grief or sadness no daughter can say such words for her believed father after his demise. Additionally, the use of words like "kamina" or the dialogue like "wallet ki baat ki krrhi tunhari auqat ki baat kr rahi hun" doesn't sits well with me as the character of Sadaf is shown to be the one who has intact moral framework and good values like self esteem and Haya etc. Also, the makeup is quite disturbing at some scenes. Especially during the death scenes. Sadaf's look is inconsistent. Her first ep look hasn't been continued. There is a 180 degree turn. Death has no relation with whether someone wears duppata or Not. But after death Sadaf is shown to be wearing the dupatta. Espcielaly in the office convo with Bilal. What does the writer wants to show. She is selling herself? And wearing dupatta? So? This is very very off. Sheer stereotyping. While in the upcoming promo shes siting in the office. It's her first day and Sadaf is back with her 1st ep look. Additionally, Hamsha's dialogue "k zaher kha lo nahi toh woh tumhe hijra samjhegi". The lines are not quite right. It can be avoided. Also, her dialogue "aurat ki marzi k baghair na affair hoty hain na gunah". This didn't sit well with me. I didn't see this as universal. Gunah toh rape aur harrasment bhe hai, usme toh aurat ki marzi shamil nahi hoti hai. Lekin ho rahy hain na phir bhe. So how can you add such a dialogue. somehow it justifies those men of our society who are wrongdoers. This is my perspective. The scenes are dragged alotttttt. Ep 8 especially. It hardly had 3 scenes. The office conversation scene is very off for me. There is so much repetition. Again and again Sadaf says the same thing that she could do anything in exchange for the 8 crore Bilal can give her.

Sadaf's father died with the tension of money. They know very well they can't gather this amount of money even after selling the house. The dr said they have a very little time as the cancer is at it's 3rd stage. She was divastated and took that decision of selling herself ruthlessly because she is ready to go beyond any limits to save her brother. Also she gave bilal the proposal because she always heard only bad things about bilal. She never thought he will give her 8 crore without any personal gain. That's why she gave that proposal to him. Even after he refused she still couldn’t believe him because of his bad reputation. She also said that if she takes loan she won't be able to repay soon. Here Bilal has made sadaf understand her worth and value that girls can't be bought at any price. So i don't think they have glorified such thing. Also this is not the first pak drama where love at first sight happens. They haven't shown that bilal has stopped alcohol and playboy behaviour right after he met sadaf. So i don't think it's that unrealistic. Bilal had a crush or attraction towards sadaf which will turn into deeper feelings in the upcoming episodes. Also bilal abdullah asked sadaf why she need 8 crore. But she refused to tell. Humsha and Amar were saying they will ask her the day what the problem is. You said no one is thinking or asking her the reason.

In her pov bilal is a bad Person who has affair with lots of girl. so she thought may be she will get the money by doing an affair with bilal. Yes she was trying to sell her body but not by wish but with regret. Now she is the maintainer of her family now.She has lost her father.She can't let die her brother. I don't think this story glorified selling yourself for money. The story clearly made the audience understand sadaf's majboori but still people are making an issue out of it.

And reality is no bank or firm would give such huge loan without some asset of that value or at least something to be sure they will get back. Even it isn’t feasible to huge such huge funds. Even normal relatives who aren’t that wealthy will just give some money, no one empties their own bank account. But Still I guess she should have first at least requested him by telling she will do the job their for her entire life or something like that and this option one would resort to only at last moment. Anyways somethings goes wrong in usually all dramas.

Personal Assisstants, advisors, councillors etc of billionare tycoons at the end of the day still are pretty well off as compared to rest of the middle class people even. They dont even hire for those positions from any random small time company or offices even. Usually its from the rival companies or places on the same influennce heirarchy. If PTV wanna show filhty richie rich type billionaires, tycoons then they should really watch Succession series. It will truly help them alot. They have cruises, yachts, private jets, helicopters but they are not in ur your face saying "because we are rich and billionaires" all the time. Not to mention it has insane complex husband/wife relationship dynamic b/w Tom and Shiv that our dramas take pride in showing and flaunt about their dramas and even that is so weldone in Succession. It just seems PTV writers/directors producers have just seen 2-3 films from Bollywood be it romcom, intensense romance, drama, thriller from back in 80-90s and have based entire PTV around those 2-3 films or stuff they have watched. They need to sit down and watch new stuff and how they are making it. Cuz they have started doing relationships and family bonds in their shows, films and series better now.

No bank or firm will give huge money without guarantees of almost same value. Even it’s infeasible to raise such huge funds as even close people will not just empty their account to help someone. BA asked her initially but she wasn’t willing to tell him. But BA believes there is some need for sure, and now he thinks it will be solved anyway with money and also as he said now he even doesn’t wanna know as it would impact him more as he would have saved her father by giving the money. But yes Ammar and the other guy can ask her mother to know it anyway.

Adding more. Hope you read my comments Rabia 💕😶‍🌫️ You are so right. I second you. The performances could be done in a more subtle ways. What I see is that Khalil sahab wanted to make every ordinary scene loaded. That is such an incorrect approach. This has made the scenes unnecessarily dragged. Also this has (as you said) made the characters' expressions extremely exaggerated. Also there is a tone of sadness and melancholy we have seen so far. But that should be kept as an underlying element. The sadness and melancholy is all over the scenes. It's too much. It's over shadowing the performances. Thek hai reason hoga, shyd baad mai clear ho bhe jaye maybe Bilal ki back story se. Lekin mood and tone of the scenes for now I can say is very very disrupted. ( Tbh we have expectations from good actors. There is a responsibility that falls on them while they choose the scripts.) For everything you can't play the card of dramatic license. I must say characters/people are gray. But the graphs so far for sunn Mere dil characters has been quite inconsistent for me unfortunately. It's not understandable. I think the characters are shifting to " extreme bad" and "extreme good" ends of the scale too abruptly such that we can't say they are gray. They are not staying and moving in between these extremes on scale. Imagine this on a scale and I hope you will make sense out of this perspective of mine.

The other thing what i noticed, an episode is based on single issue, one episode should be a mixture ov scenes and situations, did anyone notice? One episode was on father's death, next fully based on brother's illness, next based on their stupid conservations ov begging for money, i mean what is this, the drama is creating monotonous 😢
