Great Vid! Couple comments. If adding GYBC Senko formula amount os salt Soft plastic should be used. Medium can be used but softener must be added. 2 tablespoon per cup. Popcorn Salt is fine, where as flour salt is a fine powder (like (flour) Always mix salt to raw unheated plastic, if you can and mix well. You will not get clumps. I use Glass beads which is amazing compared to salt but WILL scratch your injector. I have one injector dedicated just for sticks. Glass beads uses the same formula. Baits will not become weak like salt. I regularly catch twenty plus bass on one bait when rigged Wacky with an O-ring. Glass beads give you a more translucent bait that shows glitter and color way better. You can even make a clear bait.

Ya I have stayed away from the glass beads just due to the potential injector damage but might have to try it one of these days. I add softener to my stickbaits that I plan on throwing weightless and then stick to a medium/soft blend if I’m throwing on weighted wacky hooks. Thanks for watching 🤙

Cool video, and I also could see the effect of mixing all the colours of the previous one... Might be a good idea to keep a silica gel, or even rice, little bag in the salt to avoid moisture absorption... or maybe dry it out in a normal oven before adding it...

Ya I’ve considered putting something in my container to absorb moisture but I don’t use salt all that often so I havnt tried anything yet. Those colors all blended did turn out pretty good tho 🤙

@@N2TW_customlures, i think that actually it's even more important to have something to absorb moist if you use them rarely! 👍😉 Also, what would happen if you laminate one half with and one half without salt? 🤔

@@Marcuccioperca I’ve played around with that a little bit. The hard part is getting the consistency the same and getting clean laminates. The salted side is thicker than the non-salted so I found that I had to have the salted side 10-15 degrees hotter to get somewhat even laminates. Just more work than it’s worth in my opinion

Awesome video. My observation was that the table salt senko had the least quivering/ shimmy of the lure tips on the fall, which I think is something important on a wacky rig. I personally think the Bait Plastics salt had the best action.

@@Senkomaniac I agree with that. I was really happy with how well the flour salt mixed in but it changes the color of the plastic a lot which I didn’t care for too much

@@N2TW_customlures have you tried silica sand/ glass sandblasting beads as weight? I know Yamamoto uses a mix of salt and silica sand.

@@Senkomaniac I havnt tried it yet due to glass beads potentially causing damage to injectors but im definitely going to try it in the future

Great video thanks for the comparisons! When I used to pour I used to use glass beads for sandblasting instead of the salt. I’d adjust how much for different fall rates. In my experience it added weight without making the baits to fragile the drawback is it would scratch the injector so I only used do-it cheapo injectors when doing that. Plus you don’t want to breath the glass powder. At the end of the day I’d never go glass again. It’s not worth it. Popcorn salt is what I’d use if I ever started again based on your video. Thanks again 💪🏼🎣💯

Ya I’ve heard a few people talk about the glass beads and it seems like everyone that used them always had dedicated injectors for that exact reason. I might try them at some point just to see what I think. I appreciate you watching the videos 🤙

Man the way you explain things and try to cover all points is great. Love the videos. I learn something every time. What brand of plastic do you use? Does it always float unless manipulated?

My goal is to be a good resource for other bait makers so I appreciate the positive feedback and support!! I’m using Baitplastics and yes it does tend to float without salt but not super buoyant like Zman. A heavy hook will make the baitplastics slowly sink

But what about using bath salts? HA HA Don't inhale! 🤣 Seriously though, great video and awesome comparison! I haven't dipped into salts yet, do you give it another round in the vacuum chamber before injecting or do you just leave the bubbles in before injecting?
@N2TW_customlures

Ahhh genius… salt and scent 😂 I just leave the cups in the microwave for about 30 seconds after I reheat and the bubbles will usually all rise and pop. Might take a couple tries to get them all but in my opinion can be easier than a vacuum because running through the vac with salt can very very easily bubble out of the cups

Great video. Thanks for the comparison. Looked to me like the table salt one was heavy on one end as it had a consistent glide to the same side on all of the drops. World’s Worst has a vid where he did it intentionally using the AI top pour stick mold. Cool stuff.

Do the various sats affect the plastics differently as far as the durability of the baits. Do the baits tear more easily with one salt source compared to others.

Fishing them wacky rigged with o-rings I didn’t really notice a difference. I haven’t tested them side by side with a normal Texas rig hook yet. If I had to guess I would think the table salt having the larger particles might tear slightly easier but that’s just a guess

What blend of plastic do you find most effective for maximum action for stick baits?
@N2TW_customlures

It just depends on how I’m fishing them. If I’m throwing them on a weighted wacky head I prefer a medium blend but if I’m throwing them weightless I prefer a soft blend

Ya I think it has to do with how fast that salt settles. I think it makes the bait slightly heavier on one side which leads to the gliding motion. I could be completely wrong tho lol
