Does Sims 4 Life and Death work well with other packs?

For Discover University: Biology works for the Mortician career and Psychology works for the Funeral Director career. I've read that Language and Literature works for the Reaper career, but when I tested it, it didn't work for me. It's odd that none of them will show up and I assume it's a bug?

I have had some very fun goals for the bucket list but I agree that it progresses much too fast. My favourite so far has been that one of my Sims learned knitting from his wife's grandma as a way to relax from his job. After she had passed, he remembered her fondly from wearing socks she had knitted and that somehow sprouted his wish to become a master knitter. I feel that overall the ones that just pop up are much more interesting than the once you can pick by category.

Omg, that's so cute, but also quite heartbreaking. I'm always worried about that in real life, because I've learnt knitting only cause my Granny wanted me to. And almost all my jumpers and cardigans are made by her, will I be able to wear them without sobbing uncontrollably if the day will come?

I don’t really see why it’d be hard coding wise to do things differently, but they would have to create more different table displays maybe, so there’s that. Another objection I could see to not including all careers is you’d need them to be visually recognizable, but clearly that wouldn’t be an issue for reapers 😊

As a spell caster, when i discovered that I could get the Jungle Adventures treasures from the fissures… I spawned Copypasto and made money. 😂 If you apply the spooky challenge trait, it does give you the paranormal stuff to experience.

Before casting Copypasto, look if you can cast Repairio on that object. When available, it maxes out the quality, and may increase the value.

The one thing not one person played around with not one simmer, played with the skeptic trait. Because The Sims team said you can be a vampire or a ghost or be a vampire ghost and skeptic, and what would happen is you wouldn't believe you're dead or you wouldn't believe you're a vampire, or vampires don't exist or you would have a hard time believing you are a ghost yourself because ghosts don't exist ..and they described that with cross compatibility with other packs.. you know? .. with other occults.. and that there's so much playability attached to the skeptic trait but not one person in the Sims community played with the skeptic trade at all and it sucks

I like the bucket list, but I agree, it should be harder. Of course people have bucket list with various complexity level in real life if they have one, but in Sims aspirations are already easy, so it would be nice if we had something challenging in game to do without us making challenges. EDIT: and Servos have souls! Justice for Servos, they should have soul's journey! 😂

My spellcaster did get a bucket list goal to cast 30 spells. I didn't notice if that was on your list. I've been kinda wondering if they changed based on the sim. Maybe a vampire or werewolf would have some different options. Maybe a sim living in Britechester would have different ones available even on the long 'choose for yourself' list. Or in Uni?

Problems that came with the lasted update: the ghost dog from Cats & Dogs has become a regular dog because it is an adult (now, only elder animals can be ghosts). Additionally, ghost children resulting from the Wishing Well are now just normal children because the Wishing Well grants a child with the 'Death by Laughter' trait, but ghost children can no longer have this as a cause of death... I’m so tired of the Sims team breaking older features when releasing new ones 😭😭🫠

One neat little bit of cross-pack compatibility I noticed was that the "Conjuror" ability can summon cursed objects from Paranormal stuff (like the ghost puddle or twisted tendrils)

I suppose they weren't allowed to make Ravendancer an actual Spellcaster hybrid because that's a ROM trait. Now that we have an Occult changer in CAS, I think that's probably something you can tweak more easily without mods, though? Just with cheats. I haven't tried yet myself though, so I don't know for sure. I like to give Sims 4 a good while to settle after a new EP before I jump back in. Let them drop a few patches and hot fixes, and see what the mod community deems to need immediate fixing.

Vampires can't turn ghosts because they don't have plasma (at least, that's what the game claims), it doesn't stop werewolves tho. Werewolf bites are actually a bit glitchy, if you get a bitten by a werewolf and use cheats to turn that sim into a servo before the transformation happens, congratulations, you got yourself a hybrid (I checked it with spellcasters with cheating servo mid-turning animation and it barely worked (can learn spells but I'm kinda locked out of perks) and it didn't work with vampires at all) Servos do have soul's journey, however it's 100% hidden. You can cheat in bucket list items (with testingcheats), but it can also be naturally progressed with aspirations and wants. If you wish to get a ghost servo, I recommend using the Romantic Garden wishing well to get a deadly outcome of wishing for youthful vigor (can be forced with testingcheats).

@@EnglishSimmer If not for the fact you need other DLCs (or cheats) to get permanent servo ghosts, nothing is stopping you from getting a servo to go through rebirth... In fact, I should probably check if servos can have an out-of-body experience in the rebirth lake, because the rebirth option is there for any ghost (I definitely saw it with a temporary ghost using the seanse table from Paranormal, might need to check with the out-of-body experience) edit: I checked, servos can't have an out of body experience (but still, soul's journey does affect servos, literally the first milestone awards increased satisfaction points from all sources) and, one of the festivals has a chance of turning you into a temporary ghost (it's a raffle tho, with main prize being summoning grim)

I like the bucket list, but my game made a mistake : my aro-ace sim got a woohoo-related bucket list item, so I scrapped the whole list. I hope the sims team tweak the personalisation of the bucket list so that this can't happen!

Can you have a ghost servo ? Some goals : Learn all spell. Learn all potions. Become a scientist and invent all serums. As a spell caster, werewolf or vampire, unlock all perks. Complete all aspirations in the creativity, knowledge or nature category. Also, all of those from the location or popularity categories. Visit ALL community lots. Visit the home of at least 50 families... Or as many as there are in the game if given the packs that you have there are less than 50. Go fishing in all the fishing spots. Go swimming everywhere it is possible to swim. Family : Meet one of your great-great-great grand child. With the Scare Seeker challenge, random Sims will often thank you for the scare and offer you some gift in return. To go with that challenge, if you have City Living, add Tremors/Earthquake, and, with Island Living, add Volcanic Activity. Both tend to make Sims scared. Spooky is a must. If you have Jungle Adventure, add Creepy Crawler that cause you to experience some of the wild life mishaps from the jungle happen in your house. Get attacked by some spiders, vampire bats and some other. Study in biology or psychology should go well with the thanatology career.

Becoming a master Vampire is relatively easy. Lock your sim in a tiny house for about 3 days with a computer and you can become a Master Vampire quite easily. I do it with all my Vampires because I hate seeing them die to sunlight. It only gets hard if they have certain traits. Mortimer Goth couldn't function without Bella by his side. Judith Ward needed to be alone because she hated people touching her and was becoming too tense for my Vampire frat house.

24:04 omg you need to watch the TV channel in ravenwood or on hollow grounds because between the snow on the television it plays scenes from the grudge and the ring or maybe it's just the ring I'm not sure it freaked me out too much I had to turn it off I can't believe they recreated scenes from the ring in the grudge in Sims hilarious and scary.. If my Sims grandparents are in their own household, will my Sims active household receive heirlooms and money from their wills? And can my active sim throw them a funeral even if they live in different households?

You've always been able to became a ghost from any of the other occults. It also works if you do not own this pack!

I didn't know the rifts appeared with the Hallowed Grounds lot trait(my new favorite lot trait btw). I was wondering why one showed up in my household inventory. I must've accidentally deleted it when building with debug on, huh. I'm also currently playing with a macabre kid sim and waiting to see if they react differently to the monster under the bed.

The rifts did appear on my Hallowed Grounds lot. It is in Ravenwood though so I don't know if that made a difference. My sim was able to reach in and then close the rift even tho she hasn't gone anywhere near the Grim career :)

Do you think the souls journey being too easy is something the team will change? I just do not understand why we do not have difficulty levels in general. The lack of challenge and random events is one of the main things that makes the Sims 4 less enjoyable for me, e.g. how you can‘t really die by accident from most deaths since the game gives you so many warnings. I understand that not everyone wants that to change but why not give players the option to make the game more challenging? Great and informative video as always :)

I feel like the bucket list is not intended to be solely focussed on but rather taken on throughout a sim's life. maybe some things should be unlockable over time? I have no idea know how to best handle this. the difficulty of a task (goal) can also depend on the sim (the story you planned out for them, their traits, etc.). I wish I could delete a task (goal) because one of my sims got one that I didn't like because it doesn't fit them. is that possible?

Yes. You can! One of the options on the computer/journal is "scrap bucket list" or something like that. It removes all goals you currently have and make room for new ones♡

Did you not read any of the create goals? I paused and read them separately One of them was to reach knitting level 10, and have you ever tried knitting level 10? It takes so long in the game, another one was to reach level 10 in the cooking skill which is a little easier I admit, then another one was to reach level 5 media production, reach level 10 in the writing skill, level 10 in the mixology, level 10 fabrication, level 10 comedy, etc..and to do certain things in each of these skill levels, these are not easy things to do in a goal they take a while they take persistence and a lot of people playing The Sims give up after level one or two so I don't know if you read them all? Or did you just happen to get an easy goal and create it and therefore create your opinion? Because I paused the game and read the things on your list and those were hard tasks especially in the I want to create section
