My father had a TBI in his frontal lobe which caused him to be in a coma for a month when he was a kid. They thought he may not wake up. He did have metal health issues and struggled with alcohol which was also tied to his PTSD from being involved in the Vietnam War. Through all that he was still a successful businessman and father and never molested, raped, or murdered anyone. It's no excuse.

S**t what defense? His mommy will get on the stand and report he was run over by a car when he was young. But his pattern of behavior growing up shows a demented side of him; spying on his friends mother while she showered, hiding in a barn spying on a friend's mom or sister, stalking an underage girl in Orlando. He knew what he was doing. Can't feign ignorance. Him violating Madeline since she was eight. I dont believe any defense will save him from the death penalty. He is a coward. His defense might argue he was "forced" to give up his phone to Detectives ( even though when he was interviewed by the male Detectives) he agreed voluntarily to turn over his phone.

TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) can certainly result in personality changes. I’m sure the reason his parents actively began soliciting interviews is to spread the “He was never the same after that” narrative. As an RN for 40 yrs AND the mother of an adult son with developmental and mental health diagnoses, I have two observations: (1) Only until very recently-the past 15 years or so-developmental disabilities and mental illness carried a huge amount of social stigma. If, when taking patient histories from parents, I had a crisp $100 bill every time a parent cited the reason for their son or daughter’s socially unacceptable behavior as a head injury then I’d be a wealthy woman indeed. (2) I may be mistaken, but the Sterns’ said that Stephan was examined and treated in the ED and sent home with what sounded like Concussion Precautions. The “brain injury” they are referring to did not even warrant an overnight hospitalization for observation, so it’s reasonable to conclude that SS had a concussion and not a “devastating” brain injury. The crux of his trial will be a battle between medical experts with one side arguing minor concussion and the other a life-altering brain injury.

The only thing wrong with Monster is he is a pure narcissistic, selfish monster. Who was enabled by his parents everytime he did something wrong. Monster had enough knowledge to groom other adults and his prey. Put a plan in action while he recked the benefits of his own gratification.

I work with kids, about 8 years ago one of our kids was leaning back on a chair during a phonics lesson, the chair flipped back and he hit the back of his head on the table behind. The kid went to hospital, had X-rays, nothing wrong with him at all. However, he was a totally different child when he got back to school, even his mum said it is like my son has been replaced by a different child. It is possible SS's head injury did affect his brain and changed his personality and social and emotional development.

🚨@TrueCrimeWithStrategic Watching replay...But I have a question about your theory on using the brain injury as a defense. Wouldn't they have to have proof of the TBI or medical documentation? Cause if I remember correctly didn't Debra Sterns say that when he got hit by the car, he didn't go to the hospital. That she monitored him at home? I may not be remembering that correctly but for some reason I thought that's what she had said at one interview. So if there is no hospital or medical records to prove he got hit by a car and has a TBI, how could it be used as a defense??
@TrueStrategicEyes9 күн бұрын
Remember you can say whatever you want in trial. You don't need proof. Your paid expert will say whatever you want them to say. The fact that he was never treated makes it even better for the defense because they could blame the parents for not seeking help for the child. It's all on will the jury believe it without evidence. Also, he could get a medical evaluation now. If they find legions on his brain consistent with tbi. They can use that evidence. I can go to court and say a ham sandwich ordered me to steal a loaf of bread. That doesn't mean that the jury will believe me.
@jessicalondon86778 күн бұрын
@TrueStrategicEyes yeah that's true 🤔 People make up stories all the time and a lot are believed. I hope the jury wouldnt be persuaded by that as a defense. My opinion SS should get the DP for just the years of CSA alone, and adding in the capital mu*der it shouldn't be a choice. Thank you for the reply. I love watching your channel

I believe the whole toy / game thing was how he got closer to Maddie. Also by listening to different podcasts and interviews, it would seem some of these toys are collectors items. Not to mention his grooming skills had to be off the charts bc not even his friends seen that side of him. Perhaps the toys and child like ways are a pre plan…… you know incase he got caught.
