I have a Genesis 5.0 R-spec for 6 years now. But even I am impressed with the quality and design of G70, and now I see why it is spoken in the same breath as BMW,Audi,Merc,and Lexus. Autoindustry is a billions of dollars of industry, and it is only common to question the new entrants and ridicule them to an extent as a part of market strategy. German big 3 did that to Toyota when they came up of Lexus ( LuxuryExports to US) and now 3 decades after introduction people talk Lexus as equivalent of German big 3. It has been almost a decade since Genesis is introduced now, and people slowly but surely are sitting and up taking notice of the Korean giant is offering for a lot less. Genesis is the next big thing in Automotive industry, it is not the nation, just like Samsung proved (from Korea) that it is the quality that matters not the nation (German or Japan). Kudos to Genesis !!

Having drove 2/3 of Hyundai and Kia’s lineup, every single one of their cars hits the mark it was supposed to. Where they’ve exceed expectations as of late is with their comparative models. They absolutely kill it every time they build something to rival another brand. This all takes time, though. The main thing I still hear when talking with people who aren’t car enthusiasts is “ugh but it’s a Hyundai (or Kia)” they all just assume it’s a cheap, poorly built car. Hopefully they can increase their rep outside of the car community. They desperately need people who are purchasing for the “image” to buy a Genesis instead of an Audi/BMW.

Where are you guys getting these crazy price differentials with BMW? A loaded 340i is about $10k more than a loaded G70 (Sport, Dynamic or Design editions). I'm not saying that's insignificant, but it's nowhere near $30-50k more. A very low miles 2018 certified used one is about the same price as a 2019 G70. Yes, I have BMW's and enjoy them, and yes, I also bought a G70 and like it very much, so this is an unbiased opinion.

That is scary number 0-60 in 4.5 secs from motor trend with only 365 hp / 376 lb ft . Mustang GT runs 4.4 with 460 hp / 420 lb ft and costs almost just as much plus 70 lbs lighter.

.1 second means nothing in real life. Tuners in SK are already "unlocking" all the power this 3.3T has to spare. A mustang GT does not compare to this. It's a coupe (which sucks). It lacks a lot of other things that make this car more complete, not to mention that this car is AWD. A must in the upper states and Canada.

hyundai and kia are stepping up their game, realizing germany shit stained cars are dying breed. friend bought 5series bmw, was having the time of his life until all the repairs started to come in, at the end of the year he even had to do engine swap. spent more on repairs than he did on the actual vehicle.

My local Hyundai dealer was saying that there's a dealer war in CA and it requires a stand-alone dedicated dealership contract that most sane owners won't sign. So there's STILL only 3 dealerships within 150 miles of SF. It's impossible to get your hands on a Genesis in CA. And it sucks.

My only objections: quilted seats (which are trendy and will look dated in a few years) and the tablet screen, which I think screws up the lines of the dash. I much prefer the large dash-integrated screen in the G80.

I love this car! The only think I have complaints about is the plastic on the seats. Full leather all around would not have broke there pockets. G70 is not a 340i competitor... it will rape that thing at the road course track. Both F80 M3 and G70 RWD have precisely the same lap time and their lap time is about almost 5 seconds faster than the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport lol

I_need_donuts Lap time at which track?? You can’t just claim it has a faster lap time without saying which track it’s running on. This car might be good at 1 track and get destroyed at others.
@rockefelleragent13574 жыл бұрын
@Karol Szymon Wiśniewski You seem very biased. The G70 is not an average Hyundai family vehicle it is quite seriously designed for speed both in the cities and race course tracks. The car may not have carbon fiber drive shaft but the body structure and torsional rigidity is stronger than most cars giving you a rock solid and tight ride which plays a major role in handling. In addition to close ratio gears and power it is that stiff and durable chassis is improving the laptimes... the RWD (with base pkg) version got exact same lap time as the F80 M3. What's even more scary is that it got slightly better trap speed in the straightaway in Inje Speedium circuit. The reason for that is it is able to carry more speed in the corners. This is not your average Hyundai toy this is some serious engineering. And the RWD version puts out 350 hp to the wheels.. the gearing is also aggressive through all gears except for the top 8th gear making this car shine at high speed pulls. It is competitive to the M3 not m340i... oh and the G70 RWD standard pkg weighs around 3600 lbs or less don't rely on the mainstream reviews their info isn't accurate.
