The little tripod extender is for when you have the 99 on a tripod you can still put a new pack in without the door getting stuck

Quoting the manual "When using a tripod, always attach the included Base Grip with Tripod Mount to the camera, or remove the camera from the tripod to replace the film." It basically gives you some extra room to open the film door, while also serving as a (surprisingly useful) grip when used without a tripod, although it's only good for shooting vertically. I bought this camera last week and noticed that in the box they included a separate sheet explaining the function of the Base Grip.

I got the instax wide printer, I can shoot from any camera, and have it output via Bluetooth to the printer, I add my own photo filters for the toy camera effect. Colors are surprisingly good. Wide is a good size to use, there’s also a black and white monochrome film pack also. Makes my older point and shoot digital camera relevant. Just make sure your smartphone or tablet has Bluetooth enabled to transfer files

I have the OG Polaroid Now and the Polaroid Go Gen 2. I love them! I've been into doing more photography and just ordered this camera! For one, I enjoy the options like the filters and vignette. I want to be able to explore more with instant photography with a cheaper film price point! Since I have Polaroid, I can jump around cameras! Im so excited to start using instax in my rotation!

Man so hard to decide either mini 99 or mini evo! I like the mini evo Option but I'm worried about The battery dying. I like the fact mini 99 have long exposure since I mostly Take photo of family or landscape. Many people says mini evo is best while other say mini 99

I purchased this camera couple months ago. I'm doing photos with polaroid go and instax mini 99 sometimes for comparisons, almost are the same film size (polaroid go film fits on the fuji's photo mini albums) but polaroid go camera fits everywhere, and is weight is very light. I think Instax quality image is superior than polaroid go but at the end I use polaroid go more than mini 99. Polaroid is like a life a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get :)

It got a shutter button on one of the dials too. Got it used for 50 $ off with a 10 pack of film. I like it, but you must always think twice when powering it on for the focus . But for others in the family a mini 70 or 11 might be a better choice.

This was my first instax and although the price is a little much, I decided it was worth it just because he film is cheaper and with all the options it’s led to a lot more experimenting and artist expression:)

Since in my country film is ridiculously expensive and all cameras are overpriced (those you can find at least, which are either Lomo or Fuji) and I wanted something that could shot the cheaper film (mini) with no need of weird batteries, I decided to buy this one. Also being just a quarter more expensive than a Lomo Automat, it seems more sturdy (better build quality), doesn't need finicky attachments for macro and colour filters and comes with a rechargeable battery, which makes it a better travel partner and justifies the extra price. The light options and faster Sports Mode (I like to shoot animals, and they move a lot) made the decision a lot easier too. They somehow managed to put a lot of features in a very compact although pretty sturdy camera that doesn't need extra attachments (provided that you leave home with a fully charged battery).

Love this! My first camera was a Polaroid and I adored using it. I have been interested in getting back into instant film but the Polaroids of today don't seem very good. The fuji cameras I think are a lot better. If you had to pick one today to recommend to an enthusiast, which would it be?

@@JustAnotherChris I LOVE the instax wide format film and I was bummed when the new 400 didn't really have that many features. If they crammed all of the tools of the mini99 into a wide body (even leave the color effects behind) I'd be on cloud9!

It's nice, but not enough of an upgrade to replace my Mini 90. The features of this camera should have been on the Wide 400. Polaroid is pulling away in camera design. Shame Fuji can't make anything comparable to an I-2, or even a Now+.

Definitely worth the price tag. I would buy this over the new Instax wide 400 anyday. I have the one before the 99 of this type of camera and love it. You mentioned Polararoid about rechargeable battery . You can charge the i type cameras by plugging it in.

No the best Instax is the Mini Evo for the same price. You can see how your picture will look on the LCD screen. 2 stops either way of exposure and 100 variations of picture lens effects, including macro. Shoot a whole days pics and go through them and delete the ones you don't want and only print out the ones you do after cropping if necessary. Saves a shed loads of film and you get great pics just as you want them.

@@JustAnotherChris it depends how much you use the camera. I've had my phone for 3 years and charge it everyday, sometimes twice, and the battery is still at 88% capacity. I charge my Mini Evo once or twice a week and it costs a lot less than a cellphone so you work it out. The money you save on wasted shots would probably buy you a new one anyway. I also have a Panasonic Lumix for 14 years with 2 rechargeable batteries and they haven't worn out yet either, so I don't buy the argument about what happens when the battery finally expires. For 200 bucks you've had a lot of fun and got some pictures that are worth keeping rather than a load of crap which you don't want. It's a stupid argument really.

The extra tripod exists because if you place the camera directly on a tripod you cannot open the cover to change films

I wouldn't get this camera specifically because I hate it when cameras use little images instead of words for settings. I find having to always remember what they mean obnoxious so I wouldn't say this camera seems worth it to me either. But that's a very specific to me reason.

Sadly, I am not a fan of rechargeable batteries ... my Mini 90 and EVO died real fast ... the battery on the 90 went and a replacement did not solve that issue ... the EVO just dies in about 2 years ... really gun shy about this model ... because of the electronics ... I feel Fuji thinks of these cameras as disposables!!! I will say the bizarre Lil Play is still going and outlived the EVO in spite of dropping it many times and having to snap parts back into the camera!!! Perhaps the Lil Play is their best hybrid camera based on my moronic usages!!!
