Honestly there is a difference between scratching and scraping. You are literally scraping the phone as opposed to a basic scratch, of course you are going to get worse results if you scrape a phone vs scratching it. Glass screen protectors are resistant to scratches and it's true when I scratch it with my knife it's fine. But when I angle it and scrape it I literally scrape off parts of glass.
