According to Buddhist philosophy conciousness is a result of inanimate particles coming together. So it is possible to collapse a wave function. Copenhegan interpretation is simillar to drishti srushtiwada. Material interpretation is drishti srishti wada. Both wadas fall under maya. Observer and observed are maya. Advaita's maya is not concious. Conciousness might be material but sentinence is not material. A distinction has to be made between these two. Advaita's truth lies beyond observer and observed. Life might not be same as conciousness.

Summary: Thank you for your response Ma’am. I have not read that book. Look forward to reading that. Having read the links in description, however, they don’t conclude nor indicate consciousness driven outcomes. The study simply re-affirm Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. Hello Ma’am. Ecstatic to learn you take feedback from community. Thank you! 8:22 to answer your question: the screen is essential to the output of the experiment while the camera isn’t. Therefore, the screen is part of the experiment where the act of “detection” is causing an interference pattern. Now, the camera is an additional variable introduced into the experiment: therefore the experiment is now changed. As explained earlier, the act of measurement itself is causing disturbances in the system. Here is a thought experiment for you: would you see an interference pattern if the camera is off? Edit: Version 3 expt set up: can you please cite the source?

thanks for this. my opinion is -(entanglement) if two particles are separated with long distance and if one is observed then it is as good as other is also getting observed instantaneously (in no time), because all are connected with one energy. So if I am ( or any person) observing any part of earth, that means earth is being observed , because of entanglement (connected with one energy), if very tiny part of earth is getting observed it is as good as moon is also getting observed (though not directly) . So according to this Moon exist though we are not looking at it directly, But we are looking at earth (or any part of earth, or human being etc), which are entangled and connected with each other by one energy. So moon has to behave like particles though we are not looking to it directly. But we are looking at tiny part of earth (land , mountains etc. of arth) which are energetically bounded and entangled. And this applies to whole universe. If we are looking our image in mirror, it is as good as whole universe is being observed. So it behaves like particles. (Aham Brahmasmi)
@councilof9project7482 жыл бұрын
Same simple answer on the moon. In duality we state that left and right arise at the same time. There is no up without down, no in without out etc. So with the observer and the observed or the 'I' and the 'world'. If there is an object, there must be a subject, an experiencer creates an experience, an observer the observed. Duality is the way 'things' seemingly appear although there is nothing there. So when there seemed to appear something, there must be someone to look at it, anyone, due to dualism. Key here is that humans think there is a 'untouchable' 'I' as in 'I' exist. Existence, life nor consciousness know of any 'I'. The' 'I' is relative and temporarily only to allow 'awareness'. There is only source, as there is no one beyond Brahman, the invisible. 'I' is no source but comes forth from Brahman. Brahman is. 'I' is part of Brahman but Brahman is not part of any 'I'. So again Vedanta is right. Thx.
@extemporaneous45452 жыл бұрын
Brahman is a part of all and every "I". Brahman and the "I" are not separate. There is no "I", but then there is, as much as there is no Brahman, but then there is when he creates an "I" to experience himself. Because without the numerous "I"s, Brahman would not exist, because there would be no other to verify his existence. And the other is created by himself to prove to himself that he exists. It's all a game he's playing with himself, really. Solitaire, anyone? Now you can't really say that, can you?

Dear Archana'ji, Your work continues to impress and offer extremely useful explanations for all, and for seekers of Truth in particular. This post is clinically and brilliantly executed. Your clarity of Advaita as well as the depth of your research in modern objective science are evident. This should leave no trace of doubt about the fact that it is the mind-body medium which "creates" the objective Universe - rather, the appearance of forms. And that because what is perceived is a distortion of reality, it is merely an appearance of something which does not "exist" as it appears. And that therefore, each and every objectively perceivable form, howsoever empirical, is necessarily an illusion . There is no objective existence and no objective form; there is only activity.... only happening! The only existence is the Subject. Keep up the useful work! 😊 Warmly, sujat

The answer is simple and is not based on quantum mechanics if I may. When there is a boat that sails on the ocean and you make a picture of the boat, you will 'measure' a boat like you measure a particle. It shows on the picture. When you 'measure' its speed you measure the abstract speed, no picture of the boat, only the 'behavior of the water' or speed.' or its wave function'. Thus the boat is the boat or the particle and the speed is the speed or the wave phenomenon. The boat is not the speed, it has a speed. There is no direct link between the boat and its speed nor the particle with the waves/water.

@@prashantkumarm7196 This "as if" is still a mystry bro, but biocentrism theory tries to explain that conscious act of observation itself creates the reality. I am amazed by the intellect of our rishis, in that time how were they able to know these things without any advanced scientific equipment to do experiments and conclude a result?
@extemporaneous45452 жыл бұрын
@@rognex You could look at it another way -- that everything is predestined, everything is preprogrammed, so the particle is just doing what was written for it to do, and the 'observer' was just going to observe because it was written that the time for him to observe was during the event, or after the event, whatever that particular case might be. Nobody consciously "knows" anything, everybody including the humans and the particles are just automatons only able to perform the functions already written out for them.

Madam, thanks for sharing this wonderful video. You mentioned that it is the animate entity, which is also conscious, responsible for the wave function to collapse but not mere detector. Because, the intention to observe is the important factor here. My curiosity is that when we place a plant or an animal as the observer what would happen. Should the wave function appear because a plant or an animal cannot record it even though they are animate entities? Thanks.
@templesbooksandscience8697 Жыл бұрын
Scientists are still grappling with this. Since the ability to measure is an important criteria any entity which cannot observe will not result in the collapse of the wave function. That is my understanding
@thrineshwaramysorer7463 Жыл бұрын
@@templesbooksandscience8697 Thanks , that is what I too expected because a plant or an animal may not have an intention to observe. Now, coming back to the original question of the moon, should we conclude that if one does not observe it it cannot exist for him? In that case, what if somebody, unknown to us, who would have observed the moon makes an announcement that he saw the moon and should we accept him and change our stand that the moon existed even though we had not observed? Is this phenomenon hard connected to a particular observer only but not to a collective entity, say the mankind? Thanks.
@thrineshwaramysorer7463 Жыл бұрын
One more question: In version 5 of the above experiment the observer is placed far away from the double-slit apparatus. Since we are dealing with the motion of electrons or photons the experiment would get over in a vey short period. Hence if we want to observe after the experiment is over then there must be sufficient time available, which is possible by placing the observer very far like several thousand KM away, to be precise. Is this the case or is there any other way of experimenting? Thanks.
@thrineshwaramysorer7463 Жыл бұрын
"Nothing is real , until one observes it". What is the meaning of 'real' here? Anything our thought may conceptualize could be considered as real. But, the truth may be entirely different. right? For example, when we look at a tree and call it a tree our perception and conceptualization are governed by our prior knowledge about the tree and hence it is dependent upon the name 'tree' assigned to that object seen. So, how can we consider what we see is the truth about that object? Because, the term 'tree' may give us a rather limited understanding of the object. SO, in order to know the truth, our observation must be totally free from all prejudices or simply the knowledge that we have prior to observation. What do you say? Thanks.

Aristotle was a famous philosopher 2000 years back. He was also a scientist, though probably he was not called at that time. He gave some ideas about the way how universe works. Two thousand years later , great scientists galelio and newton changed Aristotle's ideas based on experimental data observed on stars and planets at that time. In 1900s , great scientist einstein modified newtons laws, based on some more experimental data on electricity and magnetism. During same time , another scientist hesenberg derived a law of universe called uncertainty principle based on experimental data. The great scientist einstein didn't accept hesenberg law and gave his famous statement god doesn't play dice. In spite of great genius of century einstein not accepting hesenberg law , scientific community accepted and went ahead with it. This is how modern science evolved and still evolving to unravel nature of universe and technologists and even medical industry using those laws to give us confort and health.

I'm surprised how few commenters have actually followed this explanation in the clip... or am I the only fool here who doesn't get it? Maybe 🤨(and then I truly admit it!) This question was asked by Einstein (in a different form) to poet, Rabindranath Tagore, who claimed, based on the perspective of Indian philosophy, that it wouldn’t exist. This was because observation, which is an act of our consciousness, is fundamentally a subject, not an objective, process. Einstein insisted that it WOULD exist. Later, Heisenberg told Tagore that familiarity with the Upanishad made it easier to accept Quantum Mechanics.

Reflection of light is the chief phenomenon to occur to view any object whose size larger than wavelength of light incident/reflected. On "no moon day", does it mean "moon is not there"? Secondly, even a blind can visualise presence of Moon just by imagination or after hearing wonderful song or chanting or words (from a poet). So, object is real but experiencing its presence need not be real always. Same rule valid for God. Many or at least a few experienced God just like seeing a moon on "no moon day". Consciousness is in fact a specific state of body where brain mainly in 100% awaken state. For example, many of us often experience "absence of a well known object lying on table/bed though it is there". This is mainly due to temporary distortion of brain from viewing specific object or state of mind is in different conscious state. So, matter whether real or not, one can visualise based on imagination. This might be the reason why "we feel so sad when any near or dear departs from us". In fact, though physically the person non-existing, yet, consciousness never allows the same to extinct.

In this video, you mention the idea that a conscious observer is required for a particle to make an appearance, which is an interpretation of the observer effect in quantum mechanics. However, it is important to note that this interpretation is not universally accepted among physicists. An alternative explanation is decoherence, which occurs when a quantum system interacts with its environment. This interaction causes the wave function to collapse into a definite state without the need for a conscious observer. Decoherence is currently the more widely accepted explanation for the collapse of the wave function.The interpretation of quantum mechanics remains an ongoing topic of debate and research in the scientific community. While the observer effect is an interesting concept, it's essential to consider the various perspectives and interpretations within the field of quantum mechanics.

The deep knowledge contained in the Vedanta means nothing to you if you dont have some scientific knowledge to compare. I mean the more scientific knowledge you have, the better you understand the substance of the teachings of Vedanta.

When you observe the moon, it appears in its particle form. When you do not observe the moon, it remains in its wave form. As quantum physics says every object in the universe must have a particle and a wave property. The question is where does the wave part reside. The surprising answer is that the wave part remains in the mind. It is the vrittis as Vedanta teaches. In presence of the observer within you, the wave part collapses to become the particle. An observer is necessary for the particle form, otherwise it remains in the waveform.

So the conclusion is as expected. All phenomenal only exist when there is a conscious observer otherwise it never happen. Anything may occur but it's irrelevant. You can shine a special spectrum of light into my house through the window since I am sleeping or not at home, to me it never exist. You can tell me or send a message telling me about it and if I never seen such light before I couldn't imagine anything so I registered nothing.

A question to physics students. What are the most fundamental particles of the human body?
